Daughters of Mothers Three (3.5e Creature)
From D&D Wiki
This page showcases those vermin and non-vermin (though possibly verminlike) creatures that serve the Mothers Three. Due to the enchantment magic of Hecate and her lineage, many of them don't even know that they're working for the secretive Mothers. The Mothers have a preference for females of all races, so the introductions given here are for females, but men can also be found amongst their numbers.

The strands of the Mothers' web are spun by the mandibles of their daughters. |
A spindly, ungainly spider of giant proportions gazes at you with eight obsidian-black eyes. It looks like a harvestman spider grown to grotesque proportions: eight wire-thin legs supporting a bloated sphere of a body. Mandibles clack and forelegs skitter as the creature weaves webs - or perhaps something else?
Giant spiders of Hecate's lineage are often smaller in stature than most giant spiders of their age, but have a knack for enchantment magic. These monsters, called spellslingers, work as the Mothers' eyes in far-off placed, with the most powerful of them reporting directly to their ancestral mother. Hecatian spellslingers are also hired by other nefarious characters as arcane support. Hecate allows this since the information the spellslingers can report is even more valuable than the arcane power they can bring to bear.
Combat
Like spellcasters everywhere, Hecatian spellslingers try to stay away from foes, using powerful enchantment magic to dominate foes and turn them against each other. When supported by melee combatants this becomes easy, but when alone, a spellslinger will slow foes with webs (either pre-spun or thrown during combat) or climb to the ceiling to avoid the worst of an opponent's attack. They target foes with low Will saves first (usually with deep slumber and hold person), then move onto the most troublesome foe. If and only if all combatants are down for the count, the spellslinger gets close and coup de grace's to its heart's content.
Poison (Ex): Injury, Fortitude DC 13, initial and secondary damage 1d6 Str. The save DC is Constitution-based.
Web (Ex): Hecatian spellcasters can throw a web eight times per day. This is similar to an attack with a net but has a maximum range of 50 feet, with a range increment of 10 feet, and is effective against targets up to one size category larger than them. An entangled creature can escape with a successful DC 18 Escape Artist check or burst it with a DC 22 Strength check. The check DCs are Constitution-based, and the Strength check DC includes a +4 racial bonus.
Wizard Spells Prepared: 0: dancing lights, ghost sound, touch of fatigue, mage hand; 1st: mage armor, obscuring mist, charm person ×2; 2nd: hideous laughter, touch of idiocy, blur; 3rd: deep slumber, hold person
