Strategies and Tactics
The dreaded desert lizard is a dangerous predator that lurks in the in the dunes or rubble of the warm deserts, waiting for likely prey.. Though no more intelligent than an animal, a desert lizard is vicious. The lizard begins by lunging at a single opponent to deliver a powerful bite. Desert lizard does not recognize pain and typically fights to the death. Its surprising speed makes it a formidable opponent.
Ecology
Environment: The Desert Lizard prefers warm wastelands of either sandy or rocky terrain.
Typical Physical Characteristics: The hide of this massive lizard is covered in thick scales with one row of fringe scales down the sides. Colours can vary and generally blend in with the color of the surrounding sand and rock, but they usually have a beige, tan, or reddish dorsum with contrasting, wavy blotches of darker color. Its head is thick and filled with powerful teeth. Short thick horns protrude above the eyes and along the top of their heads forming a crown. They have one row of slightly enlarged scales on each side of the throat. It scrabbles forward with a speed that belies its bulky appearance, its long tail swishing back and forth in agitation.
