Taijin-to (3.5e Creature)

The Taijin-to are entities that invade dreams and steal the breaths of their sleeping victims. They appear outside of dreams as large black entities that float through the world searching for mostly sleeping children. A Taijin-to always carries at least one candle, which it can blow out and mix itself in with the smoke to possess sleeping victims. A general rule is, however many candles a Taijin-to has, the more powerful it is.

A large shadow with two burning candles it uses for eyes. Mostly found crawling on the ceiling and stalking children as they go to sleep.

Combat

Dreamtouch(Su): Creatures hit by a Taijin-to's attacks must succeed a Charisma-based DC or fall asleep. Sleeping victims are immediately inflicted with nightmare and have 1d6 Wisdom damage (no save) dealt every round they are asleep. A Taijin-to may blow out it's candles and make the sleeping creature smell the smoke to travel inside of their body and lie dormant for how ever long it wants. While inside, the creature permanently is affected by nightmare, caster level 5+charisma modifier.
