Category Placement

Since d20 Modern lumps rifles, assault rifles, and shotguns into a general category of "Longarms", does it make sense to do the same with our categorization? JazzMan 04:11, 24 February 2010 (UTC)

Category:Longarm works unless (and this could be at a later time) we want to split pages down from there to rifles, assault rifles, shotguns, etc. Your thoughts on that? --Green Dragon 03:13, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Hrm, that hadn't occurred to me, and it's a good idea. What if the types of longarms were all subcategories of Category:Longarm? I've been trying to think of a good way to categorize everything on here, but I haven't really had time to look at it in earnest. JazzMan 03:30, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Well the categories are really unorganized. For example Category:Weapon has both Category:Longarm and Category:Firearm. We could even remove Category:Longarm and just use Category:Firearm and then make these subpages of that one. Thoughts? --Green Dragon 03:54, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

Eh, I like the idea of having things categorized by "group". Category:Firearm is nice, but since 90% of d20M weapons are firearms it might as well be called "Category:The only d20M Weapons you ever use". I'm going to update my subpage to try and take into account what categories need to be removed. Come to think of it, maybe we should discuss this there instead, since we are talking about all cats?
