Dragon Warrior (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
A Dragon Warrior is a warrior who has either come to realize their latent draconic ancestry, or in a contract made with a lesser dragon, gained the abilities of dragons. Draconic fury and force aids them in combat. Although the manner in which the power manifests is not as pure as that of Draconic Sorcerers, the Dragon Warrior compensates with martial prowess. Some Dragon Warriors wield their powers at the behest of a Dragon Lord who is unaffiliated with other Dragons, or serves a powerful draconic humanoid. Some Dragon Warriors have a special bloodline and gain the physical power, instead of the sheer magical power, that they possess.
Receiving your Dragon
Starting at 3rd level, you gain a dragon companion. You either found a dragon egg and it hatched in your presence, one was given to you years ago and finally hatched, or you did a favor for a dragon and it decided you were worthy of being bonded to its kin. The type of dragon will depend on how you got it, and must share at least 1 axis of alignment. The dragon's soul is bonded to yours and it grows alongside you. You learn Draconic, if you don't already know Draconic, and you may teach a language you know to your dragon. The bond with your dragon allows you to be able to telepathically communicate with it over long distances, which increases as you level up. If your dragon dies, it can be resurrected using an 8-hour ritual. Your dragon has the ability to transform into a pseudodragon and back into its true form as an action, and it keeps its hit points in the pseudodragon form.
Draconic Resilience
At 3rd level, your hit point maximum increases by 3 and increases by 1 again whenever you gain a level in this class. This also makes you immune to disease. The range of the telepathic communication with your dragon is 50ft.
Mounted Synergy
At 7th level, the bond with your dragon grows and you begin to fight as one. You may mount and dismount your dragon using only 5ft of movement, and you have advantage on the saving throw to be dismounted. You can also mount your dragon if you are the same size, but it cannot fly, swim, or burrow if so. The range at which you can communicate telepathically with your dragon extends to 500ft.
Dragon Affinity
At 10th level, your power begins to manifest and as a result your body becomes covered with scales. You gain resistance to the damage type that is associated with the type of dragon you chose. Additionally, whenever you make a roll involving dragons, you add your proficiency bonus, or double if your are already proficient in the roll. The range at which you can communicate telepathically with your dragon extends to 1 mile.
Elemental Breathe
At 15th level, you gain the ability to use breathe attack of your dragon. You can use any breathe attack available to your dragon, and it must recharge (5-6) rounds. You can use this up to a number of times between long rests equal to your proficiency bonus. The damage dealt and DC is based on if your dragon used this attack at your size. The range of your telepathic communication with your dragon extends to 50 miles.
Dragon Wings
At 18th level, you gain the ability to sprout a pair of dragon wings from your back, gaining a flying speed equal to your current speed. You can create these wings as a bonus action on your turn. They last until you dismiss them as a bonus action on your turn. You can't manifest your wings while wearing armor unless the armor is made to accommodate them, and clothing not made to accommodate your wings might be destroyed when you manifest them. You can now telepathically communicate with your dragon as long as you are on the same plane of existence.
Creating your dragon
Your dragon's level scales based on your fighter level. It begins with 2d8+6 hit points, and each time it levels up it gains hit points equal to the maximum value of its hit die plus 2. The new hit die your dragon gains as it levels up does not affect previous health gained, but all previously gained hit die now match the highest value. The dragon has an initial AC of 13 + its Dexterity Modifier. As it levels up, the base AC of 13 increases. The dragon can use its breathe attack a number of times between long rests equal to its proficiency bonus, and it must recharge for (5-6) rounds. The DC for the breath weapon is 10 + its Proficiency Bonus + its Constitution Modifier, and the area of impact changes as the dragon grows in size. The ability scores of your dragon start with the following values, assigned at your choice: 18, 16, 14, 14, 12, 10.
