Wakeful. When one of the hecatoncheires' heads is asleep, its other head is awake.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The hecatoncheires makes four melee attacks. Alternatively, it makes two ranged attacks.

Sword. Melee Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 23 (3d10 + 7) slashing damage.

Rock. Ranged Weapon Attack: +11 to hit, range 60/240 ft., one target. Hit: 29 (4d10 + 7) bludgeoning damage.


Hecatoncheires are large and strong giants with four arms and two heads. A typical hecatoncheires is very muscular and has tanned skin and brown hair. Hecatoncheires have a love of battle and mirth, and when they aren't warring with other creatures, they compete amongst themselves in contests of strength and away their hours in great feasting halls.

Giants with Four Arms. Hecatoncheires possess four muscular arms, and they have a love of showing off their strength. They compete in boulder throwing, foot races, and other shows of athletic prowess constantly, always aiming to be at the peak of physical fitness.
The hecatoncheires worship a deity called Briareos who has a hundred arms and fifty heads. They believe that this deity created them in his image, and that when they die, they join him in a gigantic feasting hall with endless food and drink, and where they can fight among themselves with no fear of harm.

Warrior Clans. Hecatoncheires gather in clans made up of one or more families, and the strongest and wisest among their ranks are given positions of leadership. While they respect strength first and foremost, they also acknowledge the usefulness of intelligence and tactics on the battlefield and view magic with awe, so physically weak hecatoncheires often study arcane magic. A clan of hecatoncheires might form alliances with nearby humanoid settlements, trading freely with them.

Martial Artisans. Hecatoncheires are noted for their skill in working stone and metal, though their skill pales when compared to the works of stone giants, and some rulers commission them to construct massive stone monuments. For the hecatoncheires, constructing such a monument is not merely a display of outstanding physical strength, but also a work of art. Hecatoncheires especially love to create statues, paying very close attention to detail and proportion, and they are known to carve short phrases onto the boulders they throw in battle, usually prayers to Briareos that the boulder will fly true and hit its mark.
