Variant Rogue: the Swiftblade

A warrior who favors the opportunistic fighting style of the common Rogue but is not interested in a criminal lifestyle may choose to take the path of the Swiftblade. The Swiftblade differs from the Rogue class in only the following ways:


Proficiencies

  • You do not know Thieves' Cant.
  • You do not gain proficiency with Thieves' Tools.
  • You choose three, not four, of the Rogue's available skill proficiencies.
  • You gain proficiency with shields, scimitars, whips, and all martial ranged weapons.


Equipment

You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:

  • (a) a rapier, (b) a shortsword, or (c) a scimitar
  • (a) a longbow and quiver of 20 arrows, (b) a shortsword, or (c) a scimitar
  • (a) a dungeoneer’s pack, (b) an explorer’s pack, (c) a diplomat's pack, or (d) an entertainer's pack
  • Studded leather armor, a dagger, and a small shield
