Chick Thrower
You walk down the street and, after a few minutes, you see merchants everywhere. You see the classic gnome trinket merchant, the dwarf weapon smith, and, you still don't know why, but the human chicken dealer always catches your attention. He has great prices, he is kind with the customers, and he always looks confident. As always, you skip him and rush to the dwarf "Is my great sword done?" you ask. You talk with him for 5 minutes or so, you have already payed it and he has been making excuses for a week now. All of a sudden someone shouts "Robber! Robber!" You turn your back just to confirm what you have heard: A hooded creature is running while the gnome is pointing at him while shouting. You try to react, leaving the dwarf behind. Maybe, today, you will finally be called a hero in this town, but then, you hear it. You hear something you will never forget: "piiio piiii piiii" You see a small chick flying through the pedestrians, followed by another one, both hitting the hooded robber, who ends falling down. You turn your head as everyone clears a path. The human approaches with a sling in his hand to the robber, just to kneel down and take both chicks in his hands. "they are both dead". He then, turns his head to the unconscious robber "I will have to charge you 4 copper pieces".

First of all, the class is not finished, there are 2 oaths left (Ratite Oath and Prey Oath) and the spell list is still not available. I've tried my best to balance the Fowl Oath with the Paladins subclasses, but it may be a little bit underpowered since it's not tested. Lastly, english is not my native language, so, if you see that anything can be improved, I'm open to it.
Creating a Chick Thrower
Who taught you how to raise and breed chicks? What did you discover first, chiks power or your own power to throw them? Why do you believe you need to use them to fight creatures? And the most important one: what is your bond with the chicks you grew, are they your precious childs or are they your deadly weapons?
- Quick Build
You can make a chick thrower quickly by following these suggestions. First, Dexterity should be your highest ability score, followed by Charisma. Constitution is always a good ability score too. Second, choose the Guild Artisan or Folk Hero.
Class Features
As a Chick Thrower you gain the following class features.
- Hit Points
Hit Dice: 1d8 per Chick Thrower level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 8 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Chick Thrower level after 1st

Chick Sense
The presence of strong predators registers on your senses like a noxious odor, and fellow animal breeders rings like heavenly music in your ears. As an action, you can open your awareness to detect such forces. Until the end of your next turn, you know the location of any creature with the desire of eating chicks within 60 feet of you that is not behind total cover. You know if the creature wants to eat YOUR chicks or if it just wants to eat anything. Within the same radius, you also detect the presence of any place or object that has been used to raise, breed or cook chicks.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to 1 + your Charisma modifier. When you finish a long rest, you regain all expended uses.
Healing Chick
Your blessed chicks can heal wounds. You have a pool of life equal to your Chick Thrower level x 5 that replenishes when you take a long rest. The chicks have access to that pool and can use it to heal wounds.
As an action, you can command any number of your chicks to touch a creature. Each one of them can draw 1 point of power from the pool to restore that number of hit points to that creature, up to the maximum amount remaining in your pool.
Alternatively, you or 5 of your chicks together can expend 5 hit points from your pool of life to cure the target of one disease or neutralize one poison affecting it. You can cure multiple diseases and neutralize multiple poisons with a single use of Healing Chick, expending hit points separately for each one.
This feature has no effect on undead and constructs.
Chick Projectile
At 1st level, you know how to use small chicks as projectiles for a sling. You count as proficient when using chicks as ammunition for your sling.
Special Spells
At 2nd level, you know the prestidigitation cantrip. Additionally, your prestidigitation can be used to cook chicks bred, raised or created by you.
You also gain access to the next spells at the levels specified. (CHECK)
lvl 2: Goodberry lvl 3: Catapult lvl 5: Animal Messenger lvl 9: Phantom Steed lvl 13: Locate creature lvl 17: Greater Restoration
Additionally, when you cast Goodberry, you can spend 10 points of your pool of life and an egg as material component. If you do so, the egg hatches and 10 chicks are produced instead of the 10 berries. If cooked, these chicks can be eaten, restoring 1 hp. You can choose a chick for your catapult spell.
Fighting Style
At 2nd level, you become one with your chicks, adopting a style of fighting as your specialty when they are involved. Choose one of the following options. You can't take a Fighting Style option more than once, even if you later get to choose again.
Archery You gain a +2 bonus to Attack rolls you make with Ranged Weapons. You must use chicks as projectiles to use this bonus.
Defense While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC. You must carry at least 1 chick to use this bonus.
Protection When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. You must be wielding a shield and the creature attacked must carry one of your chicks.
Spellcasting
By 2nd level, you have learned to draw on magic through your devotion to chicks as a cleric does.
Preparing and Casting Spells The Chick Thrower table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells. To cast one of your chick thrower spells of 1st level or higher, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.
You prepare the list of Chicken Thrower spells that are available for you to cast, choosing from the Chick Thrower spell list (CHECK, SEE PALADIN LIST MEANWHILE). When you do so, choose a number of Chick Thrower spells equal to your Charisma modifier + half your Chick Thrower level, rounded down (minimum of one spell). The spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots.
You can change your list of prepared spells when you finish a long rest. Preparing a new list of Chick Thrower spells requires time spent with your chicks: at least 1 minute per spell level for each spell on your list. Additionally, you learn the next spells
Spellcasting Ability Charisma is your spellcasting ability for your paladin spells, since their power derives from the strength of your convictions. You use your Charisma whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Charisma modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a Chick Thrower spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.
Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier
Spellcasting Focus You can use an arcane focus as a spellcasting focus for your paladin spells. Additionally, your Chicks pouch can be used as an spellcasting focus too.
Chick Smite
Starting at 2nd level, when you hit a creature with a weapon attack, you can expend one spell slot to deal radiant damage to the target, in addition to the weapon's damage. The extra damage is 2d6 for a 1st-level spell slot, plus 1d6 for each spell level higher than 1st, to a maximum of 5d8. The damage increases by 1d6 if the target is a chick predator currently hungry.
Healthy Chicken
By 3rd level, your ability to breed and raise chicks is improved. Eating one of your chiks makes you (and only you) immune to disease untill the end of the next long rest.
Chick Oath
When you reach 3rd level, you swear the oath that binds you as a Chicken Thrower forever. Up to this time you have been in a preparatory stage, committed to the path but not yet sworn to it. Now you choose an oath.
Your choice grants you features at 3rd level and again at 7th, 15th, and 20th level. Those features include oath spells and the Oath Channel feature. Oath Spells Each oath has a list of associated spells. You gain access to these spells at the levels specified in the oath description. Once you gain access to an oath spell, you always have it prepared. Oath spells don't count against the number of spells you can prepare each day.
If you gain an oath spell that doesn't appear on the Chick Thrower spell list, the spell is nonetheless a paladin spell for you.
Ability Score Increase
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Extra Attack
Beginning at 5th level, when you take the attack option, you may attack twice.
Chick Protection
Starting at 6th level, whenever you or a friendly creature within 10 feet of you must make a saving throw, the creature gains a bonus to the saving throw equal to your Charisma modifier (with a minimum bonus of +1). You must be conscious to grant this bonus and the creature must have eaten one of your chiks after the last long rest.
At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.
Chick Courage
Starting at 10th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you that can see or hear any alive chick can't be frightened while you are conscious.
At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.
Improved Chick Smite
By 11th level, you are so suffused with chick might that all your weapon strikes carry divine power with them. Whenever you hit a creature with a weapon attack, the creature takes an extra 1d6 radiant damage. If you also use your Chick Smite with an attack, you add this damage to the extra damage of your Chick Smite. Additionally, when you spend an spell slot to use your Chick Smite, you roll d8s instead of a d6s.
Dispelling Chick Touch
Beginning at 14th level, you can use your action to end one spell on yourself or on one willing creature that you or your chiks touch within 30 feet of you.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (a minimum of once). You regain expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Chick Oath
Becoming a Chick Thrower involves becoming one with the type of chicks you are breeding. This oath allows the Chicken Thrower to understand and improve his skills regarding this kind of chick.
Fowl Oath
The Fowl oath binds a Chick Thrower to the birds humans raise to eat, like chickens. Many who swear this oath are devoted to commerce and artisan duties.
Oath Spells
(CHECK) You gain oath spells at the Chicken Thrower levels listed
lvl 3: Sanctuary lvl 5: Zone of truth lvl 9: Dispel magic lvl 13: Freedom of movement lvl 17: Commune
Channel Oath
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Oath Channel options:
Chicken commerce: As an action, you designate a 50 feet cube. For 8 hours, you have advantage on all ability checks related to chicken commerce within that area. Sacred chicken: As an action, you can imbue your chick bag with positive energy, using your Channel Oath. For 1 minute, you add your Charisma modifier to attack rolls made with chick proyectiles taken from that bag(with a minimum bonus of +1). The birds also emits bright light in a 20-foot radius and dim light 20 feet beyond that. They become magical for the duration. You can end this effect on your turn as part of any other action. If you are no longer holding or carrying this weapon, or if you fall unconscious, this effect ends.
Fowl health care
Also at 3rd level, you have advantage on medicine checks related to chickens and chikens chicks.
Chicken
Starting at 7th level, you have raised a mature chicken you feel bonded to. Name it:
This chicken produces magically 5 eggs per day at the end of a long rest. It can produce an additional egg taking 5 points of your life font. You can't be charmed while this chicken is within 60 feet of you. Friendly creatures can't be charmed while this chicken is within 60 feet of them if they have eaten one of these eggs after the last long rest.
The eggs are edible for a week. The chicken has 10 AC and as many HP as the Chicken Thrower level.
If the chicken dies, you can bond yourself with any other chick around. It takes one week and 100 life points from your font to raise it. Name it again.
Fowl Pacifism
Starting at 15th level, you and all your chicks (included your bonded chicken) are under the effectts of the Sanctuary spell. This effect is applied at the end of every long rest and lasts 24 hours (or untill broken).
====Chick Corral Anger==== (CHECK)
At 20th level, you can command up to 30 chicks at once. For 1 minute, you can command them to move, attack, or help as a bonus action. All these chicks become wild as soon as you activate this spell, becoming even more powerfull. The chicks stats increase to 10 hp, 13 ac, they can move 15 feet and their beak attack has a +5 to hit and deal 1d4+3 damage.
Prey Oath
The Prey oath binds a Chick Thrower to the wild prey birds, like hawks. Many who swear this oath live their lifes in the wild.
Oath Spells
You gain oath spells at the Chicken Thrower levels listed
lvl 3: Hunter's Mark lvl 5: Warding bond lvl 9: Conjure animals lvl 13: Dominate beast lvl 17: Swift quiver
Channel Oath
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Oath Channel options:
Wildlife: As an action, you choose one of the following types of terrain: coast, desert, forest, grassland, mountain or swamp. For 8 hours, when you are in the selected terrain, the prey birds of that area aid you, gaining the following benefits: You can't become lost except by magical means. You have advantage in animal handling, perception and survival checks. It doesn't work if all prey birds in the area have been annihilated Let's Hunt together: As an action, you imbue your chick bag with bloodlust, using your Channel Oath. If you have at least a bird of prey chick in your bag, it starts shrieking. Choose as many creatures as your charisma mod within 60 feet of the bird. Those creatures must make a Wisdom saving throw, unless they are immune to being frightened or are deaf. Fiends and undead have disadvantage on this saving throw. If the creature knows the bird shrieking is a chick, it makes the saving throw with advantage. On a failed save, the creature is frightened for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. While frightened, the creature's speed is 0, and it can't benefit from any bonus to its speed. At the end of the fightened creature turn, it can make a Wisdom saving throw. On a succes, it is no longer frightened.
Hawk
Starting at 7th level, you have raised a mature Hawk you feel bonded to. Name it. To achieve it, you developed a pair of raptor gloves you use to guide it.
This Hawk aids you in the wild and in combat. You can spend 20 points of your font of life to cast beast sense on it. If you cast it this way, you don't spend a spell slot. You still need to have the spell prepared. If you wear your raptor gloves, you can freely command your Hawk in combat. It has it's own turn. The hawk can use the help action to aid you with survival and perception checks. If the hawk uses the help action in combat and you succesfully hit the enemy, it can move up to half its speed immediately after the attack using its reaction. This movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks. If you cast warding bond on your Hawk, everytime it takes damage you can spend that many life points from your life font. If you do, you take the damage instead of it (you also take the damage you would receive from warding bond if you didn't spend those life points)
If the hawk dies, you can bond yourself with any other chick around. It takes two weeks and 400 life points from your font to raise it. Name it again.
Bloodlust Hawk
Starting at 15th level, you can use your "Let's hunt together" with your Hawk. If you do, the frightened creatures can't make the Wisdom saving throw at the end of their turns if they still see or hear your Hawk.
We are one
At 20th level, as an action, you and your hawk fuse together, gaining the following benefits: Wings sprout from your back and grant you a flying speed of 60 feet You develop a second magical (hawk) head that shrieks. This sound can be heard 60 feet away, but it also has a magic origin that allows to any deafened creature to hear it in its mind if it gets 15 feet or closer of you. The first time any enemy creature hears it or starts its turn hearing it during a battle, the creature must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or become frightened of you for 1 minute or until it takes any damage. Attack rolls against the frightened creature have advantage.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
Multiclassing
Prerequisites. To qualify for multiclassing into the Chick Thrower class, you must meet these prerequisites: Dexterity 13 and Charisma 13.
