Innate Spellcasting. The oni's innate spellcasting ability is Charisma (spell save DC 17, +8 to hit with spell attacks). She can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: darkness, detect magic, invisibility, life transference
3/day each: ray of enfeeblement, sleep, vampiric touch

Magic Resistance. The oni has advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The oni makes two melee weapon attacks.

Vampiric Claws (Oni Form Only). Melee Weapon Attack: +8 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 14 (2d8 + 5) slashing damage. The oni regains hit points equal to half the damage dealt.

Change Shape. The oni magically polymorphs into a Small or Medium female humanoid, or back into her true form. Her statistics are the same in each form. Any equipment she is wearing or carrying isn't transformed. She reverts to her true form if she dies.

Etherealness. The oni magically enters the Ethereal Plane from the Material Plane, or vice versa.


The maho no oni is a green-skinned variety of oni with the ability to steal the life force of others and use it to heal other oni.
