Soul Sworn (5e class)
Creating a Soul Sworn
How did you end up swearing your soul to this divine being? Do you owe a life debt? Were you tricked by a mad god?
- Quick Build
You can make a Soul Sworn quickly by following these suggestions. First, Charisma should be your highest ability score, followed by Constitution and Intelligence. Second, choose the Fallen Hero background. Third, choose a short sword and a short bow and 20 arrows.
Class Features
As a Soul Sworn you gain the following class features.
- Hit Points
Hit Dice: 1d8 per Soul Sworn level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 1d8 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d8 (or 5) + Constitution modifier per Soul Sworn level after 1st
- Proficiencies
Armor: Light Armor
Weapons: Simple Weapons
Tools: None
Saving Throws: Charisma, Constitution
Skills: Choose three from Intimidation, Arcana, Medicine, Survival, Perception, Deception, Investigation, and Insight
- Equipment
You start with the following equipment, in addition to the equipment granted by your background:
- (a) A Shortsword or (b) any simple weapon
- (a) Two Daggers or (b) A shortbow and 20 arrows
- An explorers pack and an arcane focus
- If you are using starting wealth, you have 2d4 x 2 in funds.

Soul Points
You start the game with a number of soul points equal to your Charisma Modifier + Your proficiency Bonus. You can spen these soul points to cast a spell depending on how many soul points you spend. You gain soul points as you slay enemies. For every enemy you slay of Cr 1 and lower, you get 2 soul points. Cr 2 = 3 soul points, Cr 3 = 4 soul points, ect. Once you spend a soul point, you can’t get it back.
Soul Magic
Sarting at 1st level, You can use the souls you have gathered through slaying enemies to cast a spell of your choice from the Soul Sworn spell list. Charisma is your spell casting ability for thise class.
- Spell Save Dc = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your charisma modifier
- Spell Attack Modifier = your proficiency bonus + your charisma modifier
Spellcasting Focus
You can use an arcane focus as a spellcasting focus for your Soul Sworn spells.
Soul Order
At 1st level, you choose a Soul Order. Choose between the Order of the Divine, the Order of the Titan, the Order of the Demi God, the Oder of the Forgotten god, Order of the Celestial, or Order of the Primordial, all detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at <!-insert the level when subclass features begin-> and again at 1st, 6th, 10th, and 14th levels.
Ability Score Improvement
When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.
Soul Heal
Starting at 5th level, you can spend a number of Soul points to regain hitpoints equal to the numberof soul points you spent. You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short or long rest.
Expertise
At 7th Level, choose three of your skill Proficiencies. Your Proficiency Bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses any of the chosen Proficiencies.
Extra Soul
Starting at 10th level, when you drop to 0 hitpoints, you can choose to spend 1 soul points and instead drop to 1 hitpoint. This weakens your soul. Until you finish a short or long rest, you can’t spendsoul points to cast spells.
Soul Summon
When you reach 11th level, you can call upon the souls you have captured to fight foryou in battle. You choose the a creatureyou have slain within the last 24 hours and expend the number of soul points you got from killing that creature to summon it during battle. Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or long rest.
Soul Hunter
When you reach 13th level, you add your proficiency bonus to the number of soul points you gain from slaying creatures.
Soul Warp
When you reach 14th level, you can spend 15 soul points to transport your body and a number of willing creatures of your choice up to your constitution modifier (Minumum of 1) to a spot you can see with 60ft of you in any direction.
Soul Hoarder
When you reach 17th level, the amount of soul points you get from slaying creatures is tripled depending on their Cr.
Soul Manipulator
When you reach 18th level, you can spend 10 soul points to take control of a creature with a Cr equal to or below your Soul Sworn Level. You can make this creature attack for you as well as trigger traps so you don’t have to.
Soul Master
When you reach 20th level, at the end of each long rest, you get a number of Soul points equal to you soul sworn level + your Charisma modifier (Minimum of 1) + your proficiency Bonus.
