Xianxia Sourcebook[edit]

This sourcebook is intended to create a collection of resources and information based on Chinese fantasy, xianxia, and cultivation novels.

History[edit]

Campaigns take place in a world called Jianghu. Jianghu is the mortal realm where most people live, although there are the heavens that contains the gods and immortals, while the netherworld contains demons and spirits.

The most common race by far is human, but other races are not unheard of and it would not be difficult for other races to blend into human cities without being noticed.

The heavens are the home to deva and asura. Jianghu is home to humans and animals. The netherworld is home to ghosts and hell-beings.

Moshou[edit]

Animals that have lived long enough to cultivate enough power that they can transform into humans.

Taotie[edit]

Especially greedy that possess bronze coffers and form bodies.

Yao[edit]

Creatures, plants, or inanimate objects that become so suffused with qi that they become powerful sentient beings.

Alchemist[edit]

Alchemists are one of the most important classes, as they create the pills that help cultivators reach higher levels of enlightenment.

Those who often live outside the boundaries of society and don't usually practice qigong.

Cultivator[edit]

Cultivators are those that meditate and learn to condense their qi to strengthen their bodies and fierce attacks.

Scholars are the wizards.

Partially possessed by spirits that grant them unique abilities.

Mediums have an innate connection to the dead that lets them speak with or even control them.

Magic comes in many forms but nearly all of them are manipulated through the use of qi.

Bag of Holding

The bag of holding is replaced by a ring of holding. It works the same way but can be worn on a finger.

Potions

Potions typically exist, but instead are replaced by pills, which create the same effects but only take a bonus action to consume.
