Oath of Brawn

The Oath of Brawn stems from the belief that physical strength is the purest form of power. These muscle bound warriors are a sight to behold since they devote their time training to enhance their body. The divine forces at their command are fuelled directly by their capability of physical exhersion. Most of them use their powers with pure intentions, but there are also those who merely pursue sefish ends. They commonly have a large following of power seeking cultists and servants forced into obedience. Regardless of alignment, once a paladin of brawn has decided their next objective, and are in adequate shape to face it, nothing but death can stop them from completing it.

Tenets of Brawn

The tenets of the Oath of Brawn are harsh, but as long as they are followed, a paladin is free to choose which fights they want to take on.

Dedication. No challenge is insurmountable. You must train as hard as you can, as much as you can.

Muscle. Strength is paramount. If you are the strongest, you can force any change you want upon the world.

Superiority. Don't submit to anybody. Don't back down in any conflict. You are the most powerfull.

Oath Spells

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

5th Enlarge/Reduce, Hold Person
9th Catnap, Erupting Earth
13th Freedom of Movement, Staggering Smite
17th Bigby’s Hand, Hold Monster

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.

Empower faith. You can use your Channel Divinity to channel your physical strength directly into your divine magic. When you cast a paladin spell, you can use your Channel Divinity to change your spellcasting ability to strength for that spell and paladin spells you cast during the next minute. During that minute, you use your Strength modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a paladin spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier
Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier

Divine subjugation. You can use your Channel divinity to overpower your foe. When you successfully grapple a creature, you can use your Channel Divinity to conjure radiant bindings. The creature is restrained until the grapple ends.

Aura of Brawn

Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you can't be restrained while you are conscious.

At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.

Inexorable Offense

Starting at level 15, when you take the Attack action on your turn and attack at least two different creatures with it, you can make one additional attack as part of that action. This attack can only be used to make a grapple or shove attack.

Ferocious Paragon

At level 20, you can temporarily gain godlike Brawn. As an action, you gain the following benefits for 1 minute:

  • Your current and maximum strength scores increases by 4.
  • When you hit a creature with a melee attack, you may push it up to 15 feet away from you. If the creature strikes something, the creature and what it strikes each take 1d8 bludgeoning damage.
  • If you are wielding a melee weapon and an enemy wants to enter the reach of that weapon, they must succeed on a Strength saving throw against your spell save DC or they cannot willingly enter the reach of that weapon this turn.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
