Swordplay Tradition

Wizard Subclass

Some not only study arcane arts, but also martial traditions. There are those wizard who included hand to hand combat in their extensive sessions of magic studies. This tradition is exclusive to those with special abilities, as it is not easy to focus on spells and fighting in the battlefield.

Blade Master

When you adopt this tradition at 2nd level you gain proficiency with one type of one-handed melee weapon of your choice, the Duelist or Two-Weapon fighting style from the fighter class and your Hit Points increase by 2 for every level you take in this class.

Reaper

Starting at 2nd level, you can enter a frenzied state which grants you with increased mobility and lethality. It is often called 'Reaper' state and it doesn't change your appearance, but if it suits your background it might have a different name and visual change.

You can use a bonus action to enter Reaper state, which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you don medium or heavy armor or a shield, or if you use two hands to make an attack with a weapon. You can also dismiss the Reaper state at any time you choose (no action required).

While you are in the Reaper state, you gain the following benefits: Your AC increases by an amount equal to your intelligence modifier. You gain a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. The bonus equals your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).

You can use this feature twice. You regain all expended uses of it when you finish a short or long rest.

Extra Attack

Beginning at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Lethal Graze

Beginning at 10th level, your precision with your weapon becomes even more deadly. Whenever you hit with a weapon attack using a weapon you are proficient with and you are in Reaper state, you add one extra die of damage of the same type the weapon has.

Swordplay Mastery

Starting at 14th level, you add your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) to the damage of your melee weapon attacks while you are in Reaper state.
