Battōsai

The Battōsai style is the mastery of Iaijutsu, also known as Battōjutsu, the art of drawing a blade. Battōsai monks are often members of a Samurai family, and are considered Samurai themselves, but they are resolved to use their Katana as well as Martial Arts for their combat. A Battōsai is rightly feared for his swift movements and telling blows.

1st-Level Skill Bonus: Iaijutsu Focus (detailed in Oriental Adventures).

1st-Level Feat: Exotic Weapon Proficiency (Katana)

2nd-Level Feat: Quick Draw

6th-Level Feat: Skill Focus (Iaijutsu Focus).

6th-Level Bonus Ability: One Strike, Two Cuts: A Battōsai Monk of 6th level or higher can make two attacks with a Katana as a standard action. This means he can strike twice and move in the same round, or attack twice in the strike phase of an Iaijutsu Duel (again, see Oriental Adventures).

Prerequisites: Dex 13, Quick Draw.
