Warlock Otherworldly Patron: Juiblex (5e Subclass)
Warlock Otherworldly Patron: Juiblex
Your patron is called the Faceless Lord and the Oozing Hunger in ancient grimoires, Juiblex is a demon lord of slime and ooze. A noxious creature that doesn’t care about the plots and schemes of others of its kind. It exists only to consume, digesting and transforming living matter into more of itself. A true horror, Juiblex is a mass of bubbling slime, swirling black and green, with glaring red eyes floating and shifting within it. Only the truly insane worship Juiblex and tend to its slimes and oozes. Those who offer themselves up to the demon lord are engulfed by it and become vaguely humanoid sentient oozes. The bodies of these former flesh-and-blood creatures form Juiblex’s extended physical body, while the demon lord slowly digests and savors their personalities over time. Juiblex’s principal lair is known as the Slime Pits, a realm which Juiblex shares with Zuggtmoy. This layer of the abyss, which is also known as Shedaklah, is a bubbling morass of oozing, fetid sludge. Its landscape is covered in vast expanses of caustic and unintelligent slimes, and strange organic forms rise from the oceans of molds and oozes at Juiblex’s command. Jubilex isn’t typically interested in the affairs of normal creatures or trappings of other demon lords, but does appreciate oozes being fed, which it considers extensions of itself.

Expanded Spell List
Juiblex lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
Juiblex Expanded Spells Spell Level Spells 1st false life, ray of sickness 2nd melf’s acid arrow, protection from poison 3rd stinking cloud, gaseous form 4th confusion, feign death 5th contagion, cloudkill
Servant of the Oozing Temple
Starting at 1st level, you know the acid splash cantrip. This counts as a warlock cantrip for you, but doesn’t count against your number of cantrips known. Additionally, oozes are non-hostile towards you unless provoked, though may be hostile towards your allies and attack them in spite of your presence. Otherwise, oozes may expect or hope to fed by you, following you until sated. You can communicate telepathically with oozes up to a distance of 60 feet, though most will only comprehend extremely rudimentary concepts.
Warlocks with the otherworldly patron of Jubilex must eat and drink six times the normal amount each day, suffering the effects of dehydration, starvation, and exhaustion if they are unable to.
Whenever you cast the find familiar spell, your familiar is a small psychic gray ooze which has a mass of a single square foot. This familiar loses the ability to transform into any other form. When you cast the acid splash spell, the ooze familiar can deliver the spell as if it had cast the spell, using your spell save DC, but the ooze must be within 100 feet of you and it must use its reaction to deliver the spell when you cast it. Like other familiars, the ooze cannot attack and otherwise behaves as per the spell’s description.
Uncanny Acidity
Starting at 3rd level, whenever you deal acid damage to a creature, that creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw using your Spell Save DC. On a failure, any non-magical metal armor worn by the target takes a -1 penalty to the AC it offers, and any non-magical metal weapon it is carrying or wearing takes a permanent -1 penalty to damage rolls. The penalty worsens each time a target is subjected to this effect. If the penalty on an object drops -5, the object is destroyed.
Entreat the Slime Pits
Starting at 6th level, as an action, you can either summon or magically transform into a gray ooze.
If you summon a ooze it appears in an unoccupied space you can see within 60 feet. The ooze is hostile to all non-ooze creatures. Roll initiative for the gray ooze, which has its own turns. At the start of its turn it moves toward and attacks the nearest creature. If two or more such creatures are equally near, it picks one at random. If it cannot perceive any potential enemies, the ooze monster moves in a random direction in search of foes.
If you transform into a gray ooze, any equipment you are wearing or carrying is absorbed by the new form. If the equipment isn´t magical, it will be forever lost. In ooze form, you retain your alignment, Intelligence, Wisdom, and Charisma scores. Your statistics and capabilities are otherwise replaced by those of the new form. You revert to your true form if you die as an ooze. Additionally, while an ooze, as a bonus action, you may transform back into your true form.
After you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest.
Starting at 8th level, you can summon or transform into a Psychic Gray Ooze
Starting at 10th level, you can summon or transform into a Gelatinous Cube.
Starting at 12th level, you can summon or transform into an Ochre Jelly.
Starting at 14th level, you can summon or transform into a Black Pudding.
Starting at 20th level, you can summon or transform into an Aboleth.
Call Forth the Ceaseless Hunger
Starting at 10th level, as an action, you can create a patch of green slime (see “Dungeon Hazards” in chapter 5 of the Dungeon Master’s Guide.) The slime appears on a section of wall, ceiling, or floor you can see within 10 feet.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
Beholden to the Faceless Lord
Starting at 14th level, as a bonus action, you can become a vaguely humanoid, sentient ooze or revert back into your true form at will. While an ooze, you gain the following benefits:
You can climb surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check as per the spider climb spell.
You become amorphous, able to move throw a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing.
You gain blindsight up to a distance of 30 feet but lose all other means of perception.
You don’t require sleep and are immune to exhaustion, but still require rest to regain spells and abilities. When you revert back into your true form you reclaim twice as much of the exhaustion you would’ve accrued in your ooze form.
Your digestive system becomes the acidic digestive system of an ooze. You can devour metals for sustenance.
You are immune to acid and poison damage and have advantage on saving throws against being charmed, frightened, or poisoned.
You are an ooze in addition to your other creature types.
You deal 1d4 acid damage to anything you touch. Small bodies of water you bathe in become mildly acidic.
As a Flaw, you lose 2 points of charisma for 1d7-1 days, this drawback is cumulative if you use this power before you recover your lost charisma. Nothing short of the passing days or a Wish spell can make you regain your lost charisma.
Starting at 17th level, as an action, once per week, you can impart these benefits on up to eight willing creatures who link hands with you.
Juiblex’s One Command
At 20th level, as an action, you can become an avatar of Juiblex, gaining the following benefits for 1 minute:
You regain 5 hit points at the start of your turn. If you take fire or radiant damage, this trait doesn’t function at the start of your next turn. You become vulnerable to fire or radiant damage, taking double damage. You lose any resistance or immunity to these energy types if you had it before transformation.
Whenever you deal acid or poison damage to a creature, the target is slimed. Until the slime is scraped off with an action, the target is poisoned, and any creature, other than an ooze is poisoned while within 5 feet of the target.
Any creature, other than an ooze, that starts within 5 feet of you must succeed on a Constitution saving throw with a DC equal to your Spell Save DC or be poisoned until the start of the creature’s next turn.
Oozes within 30 feet will sate your hunger and regain your hit points whenever they devour an item. The amount of hit points regained is equal to the value of the item in gold pieces divided by 100, rounding down.
Whenever you lose 20% or more of your max hit point value in a single attack, a random ooze appears in an unoccupied space you can see within 10 feet. Roll on the table below, adding a +1 modifier to your roll for each 10% lost over 20%.The ooze summoned act on its own and may attack randomly.
d6 Summoned Creature 1-3 Gray Ooze 4 Physic Gray Ooze 5 Gelatinous Cube 6 Ochre Jelly 7 Black Pudding 8+ Aboleth
