Breakthrough Counter (3.5e Feat)

From D&D Wiki
Revision as of 23:51, 17 November 2019 by Fireball but its Chain Lightning (talk | contribs) (Homebrew feat used in a campaign. It was balanced enough for the party monk to only use it in truly dire circumstances, as the regular stunning fist ability is still incredibly strong. As the DM, I didn't mind the ability too much.)

Breakthrough Counter [(General)]

Your tenacity in melee combat is admirable, and even when the odds stack against you, you always manage to pull through with one last attack.
Prerequisite: Improved Unarmed Strike, Stunning Fist
Benefit: Whenever you would be struck by an attack while at half of your maximum hit points or lower(before damage is declared), you may expend one usage of your stunning fist ability to make a reflex saving throw. If the result of this saving throw exceeds the attack that struck you, you do not take damage from that attack, and may make an attack of opportunity against the creature whose attack you dodged.
Normal: You get hit by an attack and take damage.
Special: You may use this ability when struck by a critical hit, even if you are not lower than half of your maximum hit points.
