Fiend spiders are mighty spiders that fancy themselves the rulers of all spiders. They are massive creatures with deep red exoskeletons that are immune to fire and toxins, and have some measure of protection against the cold. They lurk in dark places, and often surround themselves with lesser spiders that they use as guards or tiny spies. Vessels of Evil. The drow believe that fiend spiders are blessed by Lolth. For this reason, any drow priestess that can draw such a spider into their service is seen as a sign the Spider Queen's approval and her disapproval of the drow's enemies. |
