Living Vengeance. Whenever Varus reduces a target's Hit Points to 0, he can move up to half of his movement and make another attack action.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. Varus can make two actions per turn or three weapon attacks.

Blight Bow. Ranged Weapon Attack: +17 to hit, range (80/240) ft., one creature. Hit: 17 (2d8 + 8) piercing damage plus an additional 18 (4d8) necrotic damage. The target makes a DC 22 Constitution saving throw. Upon a failure, that creature contracts a unit of Blight for three rounds. One creature can have up to three units applied at one time. If a target is hit by one of Varus' other abilities, the units of Blight detonate, dealing 9 (2d8) necrotic damage per unit in addition to the abilities damage. A successful saving throw does not reduce damage received from Blight.

Piercing Arrow. Varus overdraws his bow and launches a shot fueled by corruption. All creatures within a 25-40 ft. line makes a DC 22 Dexterity saving throw, taking 13 (3d8) piercing and 18 (4d8) necrotic damage plus an extra 4 (1d8) necrotic per five feet the shot traveled past the 25 ft. mark. Varus can hold the shot until the end of his next turn and move up to half of his movement before firing. He does not need to be facing a specific direction.

Hail of Arrows. Varus fires a hail of arrows that desecrates the ground for two rounds. Desecrated ground slows hostile units' movement speed by 20 ft. and reduces healing effects by half. Varus selects a target location within 60 ft. of him and sends a volley of miniature blighted arrows to shower that ground in a 10 ft. radius. Any creatures within the area makes a DC 22 Dexterity save, taking 22 (5d8) necrotic damage on a failed save and half as much on a success.

Chain of Corruption (Recharge 6). Ranged Weapon Attack. +17 to hit, reach 30 ft., one creature. Hit. Varus flings out a tendril of corruption that deals 18 (4d8) necrotic damage and immobilizes the first hostile unit hit for one round. The corruption then spreads towards uninfected hostile targets within 10 ft. of the target. They make a DC 22 Constitution saving throw, catching the corruption on a failed save. If it reaches them, they take the same damage and are also immobilized. Immobilized units gain 3 Blight stacks.

REACTIONS

Archer's Intuition. If a target moves from Varus' short range to long range, or vice versa, he can make an attack of opportunity if he can see the target.

LEGENDARY ACTIONS

The Arrow of Retribution can take 3 legendary actions, choosing from the options below. Only one legendary action option can be used at a time and only at the end of another creature's turn. The Arrow of Retribution regains spent legendary actions at the start of its turn.

Move Varus can move up to half of his movement.

Attack. Varus can use his Blight Bow once.

The life of an arrow is fleeting, built of nothing but direction and intent.

For his incomparable skill with the bow and his unquestioned sense of honor, Varus was chosen to be the warden of a sacred Ionian temple. The temple was built to contain an ancient pit of corruption so vile that Ionian Elders feared it could envelop the island in darkness. Varus prided himself on his position, as only the most exceptional Ionian warriors were selected for the role. He lived with his family in a nearby village and led a quiet life of disciplined routine until the day the forces of Noxus invaded Ionia. Their shock troops left nothing but death and desolation in their wake, and the temple lay in their path. Varus was forced to make a decision. He was bound by honor to stay and defend the temple, but without him the village's few inhabitants could offer little resistance against the oncoming war machine. Gravely, he chose to fulfill his duty as a warden. The corruption could not be allowed to escape.

His arrows sundered the troops who tried to wrest the temple from him that day. However, when he returned to the village, he found that it had been reduced to a smoldering graveyard. Remorse at the sight of his slain family gave way to overwhelming regret, and then to seething hatred. He swore to slaughter every Noxian invader, but first he needed to become stronger. He turned to that which he had sacrificed everything to protect. The pit of corruption would consume him wholly, as a flame devours a wick, but its abominable power would burn within him until he was lost. This was a path from which there could be no return. With grim resolve, he condemned himself to the black flames, feeling malevolent energy bond to his skin...and with it, the promise of ruin. He left, seeking the blood of all Noxians involved with the invasion, a grisly task that eventually led him to the invasion's most infamous perpetrators.
