Nothic Bloodline (5e Subclass)
From D&D Wiki
Nothic Bloodline
This is a Sorcerer Sorcerous Origin (Sorcerer Subclass).
Far back in your families history, a powerful wizard sought beyond their mortal reach and became corrupted by evil, ancient magic, or some other unknown force. They transformed into an abomination, a creature know as a Nothic. Cursed to seek out arcane knowledge but never to wield it with such power again, they chose to pass on their curse to their spawn for reasons unknown, perhaps they hoped that one of them could achieve what they could not. Your magic comes from this cursed heritage, along with whispering thoughts and temptations that are not your own. You too are compelled to seek out any and all arcane knowledge, even though you could never utilize it like a true wizard.
- Arcane Lineage
Your link to the arcane allows you to learn spells normally associated with the Wizard class. When your Spellcasting feature lets you learn a sorcerer cantrip or a sorcerer spell of 1st level or higher, you can choose the new spell from the Wizard spell list or the Sorcerer spell list. You must otherwise obey all the restrictions for selecting the spell, and it becomes a sorcerer spell for you.
- Inherited Intellect
Your sense of reason is not entirely your own, but it fuels your magic nonetheless. Starting at 1st level, you use your intelligence modifier instead of your charisma modifier for your sorcerer spell save DC and all other sorcerer class features that would normally use your charisma modifier.
- Weirding Gaze
The magical knack of discovering secrets has been passed on to you. At 6th level, as an action you may spend 3 sorcery points and target one creature you can see within 30 feet. The target must succeed on a charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or you magically learn one random secret about the target. The secret may be of any significance, but you learn a different secret each time should you successfully target a creature more than once.
- Pilfered Knowledge
Through fragmented visions and scattered arcane writings, you have scrounged together a deeper understanding of the arcane. At 14th level, chose one Arcane Tradition from the Wizard class. You gain that traditions 14th level class feature.
- Corrupting Gaze
You have mastered your ancestry and unlocked the full potential of the your Nothic abilities. Starting at 18th level, you may cast Eyebite as a bonus action by spending 5 sorcery points instead of expending a spell slot, and you use its available actions as a bonus action instead an action. It does not require spell components or concentration when used in this way. Additionally, when you use this feature to cast Eyebite, you gain truesight with a radius equal to the spells range for the duration.
