Elves, Wolf (3.5e Race)
From D&D Wiki
Wolf Elves
Wolf Elves serve as the guides and protectors of the forests and the beasts dwelling inside. Wolf elves are the spawn of wood elves and lycanthropic magic and have the power of both. Their story begins with the ancient war between the five Elven powers: Blade Elves, High Elves, the Lunar Elves, Sea Elves, and Wood Elves. The Blade Elves, being the strongest of the five, were easily overpowering the each of the others. The Lunar Elves were forced underground, where after a millennium of living in such a harsh environment, became what is now known as the Drow. The High Elves, wishing for no further bloodshed, surrendered to the might of the Blade Elves. The Sea Elves, being the most fragile of the Elven powers, fled to the deep, where no one could follow them. The Wood Elves, being the last of the powers that hadn't falling to the onslaught of the Blade Elves, stayed deep within the dark reaches of their forests, believing they would remain safe from the Blade Elves. Soon, the Blade Elves began to burn down the forests, leaving the Wood Elves far too weak to stand against the blade elves any longer. So they looked to the power of their protectors and infused their greatest warriors with the power of the wolves to wield the greatest weapon the forest could create, the Wolf Elves. With the newfound power of the beast, walking in elves skin, the Wood Elves were able to bring the Blade Elves down, and bring peace back to the forest and the world once again. After the great Elven war, these Wolf Elves were no longer required, and so the other races of elves and even their own brothers and sisters, the Wood Elves, began to shun them. The Wolf Elves left the treetop villages of their kind and ran wild with their new brothers and sisters the beasts of the world.
