Class Features[edit]
All of the following are Class Features of the shadow warrior mastery class.
Weapon and Armor Proficiency
Shadow warriors are proficient with all simple weapons. Shadow warriors are proficient with light armor.
Sneak Attack
This ability is the same as the thief ability of the same name. The extra damage dealt increases by +1d6 every 2 levels (1st, 3rd, 5th, and so on). This damage stacks with existing sneak attack bonus damage.
Ranged Sneak Attack
Ranged sneak attack functions the same as normal sneak attack, except it only applies for ranged weapons, and has no range limit. If a shadow warrior's target is within 30 feet, it is treated as normal sneak attack. The shadow warrior does not add his ranged sneak attack bonus damage as well. Ranged sneak attack bonus damage is independent of normal sneak attack, and does not stack with existing sneak attack bonus damage.
Vanish
A shadow warrior prepares a certain number of smoke bombs per day. As a swift action, a shadow warrior can throw a smoke bomb to create a 15 foot cloud that obscures him until his next turn. While inside the cloud, the shadow warrior is treated as having total concealment. Any other creature within the cloud (that is not a shadow warrior) is treated as having partial concealment (to any character other than the shadow warrior). While concealed in the cloud, the shadow warrior gains his sneak attack bonus against enemies who cannot see him.
A shadow warrior can vanish once per day at 1st level, and increasing by 1 every four levels thereafter.
The size of the cloud increases with level, starting at 15 feet, increasing in size by 5 feet at 3rd level, and again every 3 levels, to a maximum size of 40 feet at 15th level.
Swift Sneak
At 2nd level, a shadow warrior can move while stealthed without reduced speed. A shadow warrior cannot run, charge, or perform similar actions while stealthed.
Parkour
At 3rd level, a shadow warrior gains his +5 bonus from scale to all athletics and acrobatics checks, and does not need to make an athletics check to climb.
A shadow warrior adds a number of feet equal to his Dexterity modifier to the distance he can travel in a running jump. Additionally, a shadow warrior's movement is no longer hampered by moving through obstacles or difficult terrain.
Improved Uncanny Dodge (Ex)
At 4th level, a shadow warrior can no longer be flanked, since he can react to opponents on opposite sides of him as easily as he can react to a single attacker. This defense denies thieves the ability to use flank attacks to sneak attack the shadow warrior (including the thief's leap ability). The exception to this is that a thief at least four levels higher than the shadow warrior can flank him (and thus sneak attack him).
Shadow Sense (Ex)
Starting at 5th level, if he is able to hear, the shadow warrior is aware of the location of any hidden or invisible creature within 10 feet of him. The range increases to 15 feet at 10th level, and 20 feet at 15th.
Improved Evasion (Ex):
This ability works just like evasion, only that on a successful Reflex saving throw, the damage is instead reduced to 0.
Opportunist
Once per round, a 9th level shadow warrior can make an attack of opportunity against an opponent who has just been struck by another character. This attack is treated as flanking. The combat reflexes feat does not increase the number of attacks that can be made with opportunist. This attack of opportunity can be made with a ranged weapon from up to 30 feet away.
Reflexive Initiative (Ex)
At 10th level, a shadow warrior is much more adept at getting in or out of battle at the start of combat. The shadow warrior may take two turns in the first round of any combat. His first turn is taken as normal, and his second turn is taken at his initiative -10. The shadow warrior is not flat-footed during his second turn. A shadow warrior cannot use this ability when he is surprised.
Hide in Plain Sight (Ex)
While in any sort of natural terrain or cluttered environment, an 11th level shadow warrior can make a stealth check even while being observed. If a shadow warrior has used vanish, and is concealed in the smoke cloud, he may use hide in plain sight to appear to have completely disappeared after the smoke clears. If a shadow warrior was previously in combat with a target, and they are attacked by another target, he can make an immediate action to become hidden from that target.
Inherent Defenses (Ex)
Once per day, if a helpless shadow warrior were to be attacked by an opponent, he can make a Reflex saving throw to become no longer helpless (clearing whatever caused the condition), and avoid the attack (DC=enemy's attack roll)).
