Physical Description[edit]

Displacer Beast resemble lithe, graceful, and athletic humanoids with a panther-like head and a tail, usually covered in blue-black fur. However, as they have spread to other regions and climates their fur color and patterns may reflect this like cougars, leopards, and snow leopards. Its Monstrous origins are clear as it has six limbs, two legs and four arms. They also have two tentacles sprouting from their shoulders, both ending in pads tipped with spiky protrusions. They have sharp teeth and retractable claws, which can be used as weapons in combat. They are tall and slender and have green or yellow eyes that glow with an internal light that persists even in death.

History[edit]

The Displacer Beast are the result of a coven of hags who tried to create the perfect hunter under their control. Praying to their god Malar, God of the Hunt, the displacer beasts became great hunters, combining quick, stealthy movements with both natural and arcane camouflage to surprise their prey. However, due to their already innate intelligence being increased due to this change, the Displacer Kin slayed the coven for their freedom and escaped into the wild forests, where they created a new society.

Society[edit]

Due to their experimental nature they have not yet been able to form something that can be called a "society", but instead live in packs where there is an alpha and his partner leading.

Due to their instincts, their livelihood is based on hunting monsters and animals to eat, although they managed to see the value of gold so they sell the parts of their prey to other towns that are willing to negotiate with them, settling in the surroundings of said towns and providing some protection.

Displacer beasts Names[edit]

Their names are basic, usually some physical characteristic that stands out from the rest or some event that happened during their birth, such as being born on a full moon or during an abundance of food, this is because they are not yet as developed as a thinking race. although there are exceptions.

Male: Sharp fang, Shadow, Sun, Berry.

Female: Moon, Light, Fire.

Displacer Beast Traits[edit]

The Displacer Beast are a race of formerly monstrous feline-folk that live within the dark places of the world.
Ability Score Increase. Your Dexterity score increases by 2 and your Constitution score increases by 1.
Age. Displacer Beasts mature at the age of 15 and live for an average of 150 years.
Alignment. Due to the influence of the coven of hags and the god Malar that created them, Displacer kin usually lean toward Chaotic Evil. Though Displacer Kin exiles tend to steer away from evil but keep their chaotic roots.
Size. Your size is Medium. The average height is normally 6' and no larger than 8'.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 40 feet, and you have a climbing speed equal to your walking speed.
Monstrous Form. Due to the experimental nature of the Displacer Beasts your creature type is monstrosity instead of humanoid. As such, you are immune to spells like crown of madness or dominate person because they specifically target humanoids.
Darkvision. You can see in dim light within 60 feet of you as if it were bright light, and in darkness as if it were dim light. You can't discern color in darkness, only shades of gray.
Four armed. You have two secondary arms below your primary pair of arms. The secondary arms can manipulate an object, open or close a door or container, pick up or set down a objects, grapple creatures, wield weapons and shields and if free they can be used for the somatic components of a spell.
Displacement. You project a magical illusion that makes you appear to be near your current location, causing attack rolls against you to have disadvantage. If you are hit by an attack, this feature is interrupted until the end of your next turn. This trait is also interrupted while you are incapacitated or have 0 speed.
Displacer's Natural Weapons. Your tentacles can be used as a means of attack. They have a 10 foot reach, and deal 1d6+Str bludgeoning or piercing damage (Player’s choice). You are considered proficient with your natural weapons. And during character creation the player can choose whether these weapons count as natural weapons or unarmed attacks.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice.
