True Polymorph Telefrag[edit]

What happens when creature/object turned into smaller creature/object reverts back into it's original form - or gets turned into a bigger creatuer/object - while still being in a confined space insufficient for it's size; for example - in another creature/object? In other words - what happens when you use True Polymorph to "telefrag" something.

For example: you turn someone into Gargantuan creature while he is standing in building/cave with low ceiling (so low, what he needs to duck even in normal form). Or, you turn 5e SRD:Ancient Black Dragon into an apple, and feed said apple to 5e SRD:Tarrasque - causing apple form to melt, and therefore Ancient Black Dragon to revert back to it's original Gargantuan form, while Tarrasque's belly was only supposed to hold Large creatures. Or you turn a big mountain into a rat, order it to climb into hole under enemy castle, and then cancel the True Polymorph while the rat is under the castle - resulting in rat turning back into the mountain, what expands from the grounds and ruins the castle. Or, if we turn a huge rock into apple and feed it to a goblin - will expanding rock "tear apart" goblin?

Does inner object try to expand anyway, resulting in damage to both objects - outer one gets torn apart from inside, and inner gets crushed by resistance of outer object? Does inner object stop expanding, remaining in amount of space it has, and either only expanding after it has more space, or stopping expanding at all and staying small? Does inner object "merge" and "meld" into outer object?

Nothing was properly explained. Perhaps it's on DM idea. That's not even going to the point of how to calculate Polymorph Telefrag damage. --109.62.164.162 08:30, 29 April 2024 (MDT)

Permanent polymorph to object[edit]

You could permanently turn creature into object, with permanency. It shouldn't revert to original form as long as it is not destroyed. Even then, there is no indication what object turns back into creature if destroyed. Something made from magic materials, what cost more than platinum - like Adamantine or something.

  • SRD:Mithral is comparable to platinum in pound-to-pound weight - and SRD:Adamantine modifiers are bigger than Mithral. So, Adamantine is more expensive then Platinum. Therefore, permanently turning creatures into Adamantine is good. --109.62.164.162 11:01, 29 April 2024 (MDT)
    • There is no limit to the size of an object. Make yourself an enormous mountain of Adamantine and sell it; or give it as offering to your god. --109.62.164.162 11:08, 29 April 2024 (MDT)

it's one of the good game-breakers. There are so many uses what even they couldn't list them all. --109.62.164.162 10:39, 29 April 2024 (MDT)
