Wolffolk, Variant (4e Race)

Wolffolk are a race that have spiritually bonded with wolves. They have clans of the Wolf. The language of Wolffolk is Bestial.

Wolffolk live in strong communities. Their clan ties are strong, but their racial ties are even greater; going to war with the wolffolk on their own land is nothing short of folly.

- To be any degree of anthropomorphic.
- To be a member of a race that favors the Ranger, Warlord and Fighter
The only true "racial quality" that can be attributed to the Wolffolk is their obvious bond with animals. A Wolffolk will have characteristics of the animal of their clan, ranging from simple things like animalistic ears and tails, to being so like their clan animal that they may be mistaken as a were-creature. Their animal characteristics are just as varied as the animals they have spiritually bonded to.
Attitudes and Beliefs
In general, the wolffolk worship Mielikki. However, some have been known to worship Bahamut, Corellion, Pelor, Sehanine, and even Moradin. Wolffolk revere nature, and as such revere Gods and Goddesses connected to it, even if they do not necessarily worship them. The wolffolk are a noble race, but because of what they are and the way they live, they are often understood by the other races. Sometimes, this is not an issue; at other times, they may be wary of, even hostile to one of the wolffolk. Evil wolffolk are extremely rare, but not unheard of.
Ranger: Garou is a Ranger of the Wolf Clan. Traveling with allies is something he never expected to do; the racism of the nearby settlements did little to help his visions of the future. But now, whether it's clearing out a cave of goblins, or ending the threat of an evil Black Dragon, he still dreams of the day he brings back his bow, heavily enchanted, to rest in the Hall of the Wolf Clan until it is needed again.

Roleplaying a Wolffolk
When creating a wolffolk adventurer, here are a few points to consider.
Wolffolk Characteristics: The Wolffolk are so varied in their characteristics that assembling a list is a fool's errand. However, some generalizations may apply; more often than not, a member of the Wolf Clan will be noble, and fiercely loyal to those he has included in his "pack".
Wolffolk Names: Wolffolk names are just as varied as their characteristics; coming up with a common list would be a monstrous challenge.
