The idea behind the dagger is simple, though the item as a whole is too powerful. Unmitigated damage bonuses on magic items are usually at the very least an uncommon item, and this item has the potential to deal more damage than what an uncommon magic item can normally do. A strong uncommon item could have 1d4/+2 bonus damage like the bracers of archery, and currently this item could allow you to deal 1d4/1d6 bonus damage depending on the weapon given. There is some other things you could do to balance the item like giving the weapon charges and requiring a charge to add damage to an attack or even something else, but the easiest fix is to make the item a dagger and make the item uncommon.--Blobby383b (talk) 17:32, 15 April 2021 (MDT)

Apologies, for some reason I had the +1/2/3 weapons moved down 1 rarity in my memory, and initially balanced it as such. In addition to charges, I locked the additional damage to 1d4, as similar items like Flame Tongue also use a static dice (presumably to reduce weapon die increase tomfoolery). Hopefully everything is up to snuff.--Ref3rence (talk) 19:52, 15 April 2021 (MDT)
No worries, I do like the direction you took with the item though as it seems much more interesting. I would still consider making the weapon a dagger as it being something else seems weird given that name, but I don't care too much either way. Kudos to making it all work in the end.--Blobby383b (talk) 21:57, 17 April 2021 (MDT)
