I like all of the additional options this item gives monks, but several effects are unbalanced(both too strong and far too weak) and the item has a few minor wording issues(ki points, force damage, ect). First,

  • You get a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls which is stong
  • When you hit a creature with an unarmed strike, you can attempt to grapple the creature you hit is extremely broken. This allows you to effectively make another attack against a creature for free that can only be used to grapple a creature at advantage, and you get several powerful effects(a grappled creature can't make attacks too) when you grappled a creature. The rest of the feature should also be made much clearer. It mentions them taking damage every round, but when exactly is that?
  • The next effects(bonus damage and range) are both very much underpowered. A monk can spend 1 ki point to make an additional attack with flurry of blows which should deal around the same damage as this effect when you should get this item(17+). This effect shouldn't be as strong as flurry of blows as you can use it on every attack, but it shouldn't just be completely useless. I would suggest making it cost 2 ki points and deal 2d8 force damage. The second effect is almost completely useless. It gives you 5ft more reach when monks have amazing movement speed and it costs 2 ki points and a bonus action(you are not making 1-2 other attacks or using something else).
  • The blinding effect should have a saving throw and it shouldn't last nearly as long as it currently does. The effect should also not be permanent.
  • The last channeling bonus damage effect is awkward(why must you maintain concentration and it uses a bonus action to activate), and the effect is also too strong if you don't lose concentration. This should largely be scrapped in favor of balancing the earlier effect that allows you to spend ki points for bonus damage as this item already has a large number of good effects.

Overall this magical item just has too many effects, with several that are too situational, and others that are overpowered or extremely weak.--Blobby383b (talk) 19:36, 13 April 2018 (MDT)
