Spore Infected[edit]
Sorcerer Subclass
Those that slumber in the Magical Softbög Mushroom forests risk receiving a small mushroom spore within their head, cursing such an unlucky creature. The spore attaches itself to the brain and prevents the creature from sleep, as a mechanism to take over a weakened mind, to integrate again with the Softbög Mushroom forests. Some learn to cope with this entity in their mind, attaining an affinity for magic as is present in their body with the spore in their brain.
- Nature Affinity
Starting when you choose this origin at 1st level, you can choose spells from the Druid spell list when choosing Sorcerer spells, they count as Sorcerer Spells for you.
Previously had the idea to create some sort of Nature Magic Surge Table, but I am starting to think that is a bad idea since I was just taking the more naturely themed things from the Wild Magic Table. Janderion (talk) 10:46, 17 April 2022 (MDT)
- Sleep is for the weak
You have learned that the mushroom spore's influence over you has drawn you towards a lack of sleep, discovering that your insomnia fills yoru body with more magical energy than you normally have. Beginning at 1st level, when you skip a long rest which a normal character would enter into one, you gain a number of d6s equal to your sorcerer level, which you can spend 1 dice to add or subtract from any skill check, saving throw, or attack roll; spend 3 die to add 1d6 to a melee or ranged, magic or nonmagical attack. When you skip the long rest, you must pass a DC 15 Constitution saving throw, or receive 1 level of exhaustion. You can use this feature once per actual long rest; you can only gain the bonuses listed here by skipping a single long rest. Skipping anymore will not benefit you.
- Now I am the Master
Starting at 6th level, you gain the following spell which does not count towards your known spell limit: [Fungal Growth]. You can cast this spell as a Sorcerer spell once per long rest without using a spell slot.
- Sleep Deprived
Starting at 14th level, yo have drawn more control over the mushroom spore within yoru body, engaging more with the fungi-based natrue you are ever closer to. In addition to your "Sleep is for the weak" feature, you can skep an additional long rest to gain the following: 1) all of the benefits of a long rest (expect removing a level of exhaustion), and 2) a temporary bonus to your Sorcery Point maximum and a number of Sorcery Points, both eqaul to three-quarters of your sorcerer level. You can use this feature once per use of your "Sleep is for the weak" feature.
- Truely a Fungi
You have finally come to understand and connect to the strange wisdom and knowledge regarding the entity which bestowed upon you your sorcery, coming to know that it is not one singular creature, but some sort of hivemind of fungi. Beginning at 18th level, for an number of times per Long Rest equal to your Constitution modifier, you can tap into your connection to the hivemind of fungi, granting you the following benefits for 1 minute:
- +5 bonus to your Wisdom modifier.
- Advantage on perception, investigation, arcana, and history checks.
- You can telepathically communicate with any other spore-infected sorcerer within 5 miles.
You must pass a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be controlled by the hivemind for the duration.
