Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: The 1500 year history puts huge onus on the DM. How do you get into an argument with this weapon, and what are this weapon's ability scores and vision?

You can help D&D Wiki by better balancing the mechanics of this page. When the mechanics have been changed so that this template is no longer applicable please remove this template. If you do not understand balance please leave comments on this page's talk page before making any edits.

Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement)

It glows with a bright golden light, illuminating darkness, including magical darkness. The light lasts for 6 minutes, activated by the command word, Bostock. It has Samuel's full name on the pommel. It actively resists any alignment other than Lawful Good, essentially making it a regular longsword. It has the ability to talk into the wielder's mind, sharing comments or knowledge about an event that has happened in the last 1500 years, DC 10 Intelligence check for the sword. The sword will cut through anything unmagical, with absolutely no resistance. Functions as a Vorpal Longsword.

Sentience. Samuel "Bostack" Barreller is Lawful Good and can understand Common, Orcish, Draconic, Abysmal and Celestial.
Personality. Hates all evil, and will do anything to eliminate it. Acts like a familiar, you can cast spells through it. Will attempt to kill any golden dragon, which he can sense within 200 feet. Every 500 damage it deals, it will increase +1 proficiency, to the maximum of 4 times. Other than that, have some fun, I like to see other things be adjusted.
