Gunblade Fighter[edit]

From an early age, you are taken in by a secret elite military force training their soldiers in the forgotten art of wielding a gunblade. What do you do with your new found skills. Do you continue to work as an elite black ops agent? Do you fake your death and disappear to become an elite mercenary? Do you seek out power and become unstoppable or simply seek out all evil in the world and help the helpless? The world is at your fingertips and the choice is yours...

Creating a Gunblade Fighter[edit]

A Gunblade Fighter is essentially a fighter with the gunslinger archetype that wields a Gunblade instead of a sword and/or a gun. You can make a Gunblade Wielder quickly by following these suggestions. First, Dexterity, followed by Constitution. Second, choose the Soldier background.

Class Features

As a Gunblade Fighter you gain the following class features.

Hit Points

Hit Dice: 1d10 per Gunblade Fighter level
Hit Points at 1st Level: 1d10 + Constitution modifier
Hit Points at Higher Levels: 1d10 (or 6) + Constitution modifier per Gunblade Fighter level after 1st

Proficiencies

Armor: All armor
Weapons: Gunblade
Tools: Tinkerers tools
Saving Throws: Strength, constitution
Skills: Choose two skills from Acrobatics, Animal Handling, Athletics, History, Insight, Intimidation, Perception, and Survival

Fighting style[edit]

At level 1 you adopt a particular style of fighting as your specialty. Choose one of the following options. You can’t take a Fighting Style option more than once, even if you later get to choose again.

  • Marksman-You gain a +2 bonus to attack rolls you make ranged.
  • Defensive-While you are wearing armor, you gain a +1 bonus to AC.
  • Dualist-you gain a +2 bonus to damage rolls with gunblade.
  • Heavy handed-When you roll a 1 or 2 on a damage die for an attack you make, you can reroll the die and must use the new roll, even if the new roll is a 1 or a 2.
  • Protector-When a creature you can see attacks a target other than you that is within 5 feet of you, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll.


Second wind[edit]

At level 1, you have a limited well of stamina that you can draw on to protect yourself from harm. On your turn, you can use a bonus action to regain hit points equal to 1d10 + your fighter level. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again.

Action Surge[edit]

Starting at 2nd level, you can push yourself beyond your normal limits for a moment. On your turn, you can take one additional action. Once you use this feature, you must finish a short or long rest before you can use it again. Starting at 17th level, you can use it twice before a rest, but only once on the same turn

Gunsmith[edit]

At 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Tinker’s Tools. You may use them to craft ammunition, draft and create new Gunblades. Some extremely experimental and intricate weapons are only available through crafting.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

At level 4 increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Extra Attack[edit]

Beginning at 5th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. The number of attacks increases to three when you reach 11th level in this class and to four when you reach 20th level in this class.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

At level 6 increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1.

Gunblade efficiency[edit]

At level 7 you now crit melee attacks on 18-20

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

At level 8 increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Indomitable[edit]

Beginning at 9th level, you can reroll a saving throw that you fail. If you do so, you must use the new roll, and you can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest. You can use this feature twice between long rests starting at 13th level and three times between long rests starting at 17th level.

Lightning Reload[edit]

Starting at level 10, you can reload as a bonus action.

Extra attack x3[edit]

At level 11, you can now attack 3 times, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

At level 12 increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Indomitable lvl 2[edit]

At level 13 reroll a second saving throw that you fail. If you do so, you must use the new roll, and you can now use this feature twice between a long rest.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

At level 14 increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Meticulous Maintenance[edit]

Starting at level 15 your weapon no longer jams or backfires on critical fail attack rolls.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

At level 16 increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Action Surge level 2[edit]

On level 17 you may use action surge twice before a rest, but only once on the same turn. and you may also now reroll a third saving throw that you fail. If you do so, you must use the new roll, and you can now use this feature thrice between a long rest.

Indomitable lvl 3[edit]

At 17th level, you can use Indomitable three times between long rests

Seasoned Marksman[edit]

Starting level 18 you now critical hit any ranged attack on 18-20.

Ability Score Improvement[edit]

At level 19 increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1. As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

Extra attack x4[edit]

At level 20 you are now able to make 4 attacks, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.
