The Coming Back are spirits who seize newborn bodies and take the place of the baby soul, that's evicted. They play the role of the child until the body's grown up enough to leave the family forever and continue their eternal life.

Play a Coming Back if you want...

  • To have no fear of death
  • To see the life-death cycle as an overrated thing
  • To be an ironic observer of events (or change them!)
  • To be a member of a race that favors the Bard, Wizard and Shaman classes.

Physical Qualities[edit]

The Coming Back have the physical details of the human body they "lent" (as they say). They act like humans and pretend to be humans. Generally speaking, humans and Coming Back are physically indistinguishable. Some people say the Coming Back's eyes are brighter than humans eyes, but that's not always true. They can seize both male and female bodies, and it's not uncommon that they voluntarily alternate the host sex in order to have different experiences during every life they live. Whatever, as they never develop any sexual preconception, they're barely interested in wich is their sex: they shall not change their relations with other people. They can only seize human bodies.

Playing a Coming Back[edit]

As death means just a fifteen years rest time, life is cheap for Coming Back. Even if it's not their life. Despite that, they're neither cruel nor sadistic. Quite the opposite: they can even establish a strong relationship with mortals. Being friend of a Coming Back means you and your descendants are live-long protected by him. Because of this, they get easily confused for protector spirits. Whatever, the majority of them likes living life travelling from place to place, often as bards telling long-forgotten stories or hermit avoiding any contact with people. No matter what lifestyle they choose, one thing associates all Coming Back: humor. Expecially sarcastic humor. Saracstic humor even in the most drastic situation. Someone says it's their natural defence to all horrible thing they come to see in their many lives, other suggest they use it to identificate other Coming Back, but there are some people that assert that they're just unable to take things seriously, but all Coming Back like jokes. If they're good enough. As every other race, though, there are some evil elements. Evil Coming Back can be frightening enemies, capable of jade whole generations of heroes, planning long-term evil masterful plans.

Coming Back Characteristics: ironic, cinic, happy-go-lucky, moody, curious.

Male Names: Male human names

Female Names: Femal human names

Coming Back Adventurers[edit]

Three sample Coming Back adventurers are described below.

Drew is a Coming back bard, who loves travel with adventurers companion to see lands nobody ever saw before. His greatest dream and purpose is to visit every single place on Earth, but it's revealed more difficult than it seemed, so he decided to stop and start living an heremit life. he decided this five lives ago. He loves too much travel with other people to stop and as death means a long time in th same place, he try to die as infrequently as possible.

Mari is a Coming Back rogue, who loves gambling. In order to continue to be able to afford her expensive hobby (she loses almost every time!) she joined a criminal gang that sells false ancient artifacts. Due to her knowledge of history, her very good memory and her pottery skills, she creates almost perfect copies of urns or idols she saw long time ago. Nobody noticed any differences until now.

Alek is Coming Back wizard, who avoid people like they were pests. He's not evil, just quite sociopath. He tries to spend whit his adoctive parents the shortest amount of time he can, and they often have "accidents" when his body is finally 14/15 years old. Then he starts looking for his abitual house, a shack in the forest, and spend the rest of his life trying to decipher an old book his only human friend, whose he didn't succeed in protecting the daughter by his enemies. He hopes someday he will manage to understand what his friend was studying and continue from the point he interrupted.
