Class Features[edit]
Damage Reduction: At 1st level, a Bodyguard gains damage reduction 1/—. This improves to damage reduction 2/— at 4th level, damage reduction 3/— at 7th level, and damage reduction 4/- at 10th
Human Shield: At 1st level once per round as a free action the Bodyguard chooses one ally, if at any point between the end of his current turn and the beginning of his next turn that ally is attacked he may dive in the way of the attack. The Bodyguard receives a -2 penalty to AC, the attacker must roll normally to hit. After using this ability the Bodyguard ends up in a square adjacent to his ally. The Bodyguard can only block one attack per round with this ability. In order to use Human Shield the Bodyguard must have line of sight with the attacker, be close enough to his ally to make it to them in one move action, and he must have moved 5ft or less during his turn.
The Bodyguard does not have to use this ability at the first sign of his ally being attacked in case he wishes to save it for a later attack
At 4th level the Bodyguard can block up to two attacks, but only if they're being made by the same enemy as part of one action, at 8th this increases to three.
At 5th level the Bodyguard can designate an extra ally but can still only use Human Shield once per round.
Toughness: At 1st level a Bodyguard gains Toughness as a bonus feat even if he does not meet the prerequisites.
Improved Toughness: At 2nd level a Bodyguard gains Improved Toughness as a bonus feat even if he does not meet the prerequisites.
At 6th level a Bodyguard gains this feat again (an exception to the normal rule that you cannot gain the benefit of this feat twice).
Thinking Ahead: At 3rd level a Bodyguard can ready an action to charge against anyone attacking an ally.
Brute Protection: At 5th level when a Bodyguard is adjacent to an ally, the ally receives +1 circumstance bonus to ac, At 7th this increases to +2 and at 9th it increases to +3.
Diehard: At 8th level a Bodyguard gains Diehard as a bonus feat even if he does not meet the prerequisites.
