Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: This seems awfully weak for a legendary item that has 48,000 souls within it. Mentions having its own will, so perhaps it should be a sentient item?

Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement by a creature with 14 or higher Intelligence or Wisdom)

This weapon of divine origin is the only one of it's kind. It was created by Hephaestus for Tathagata. In the creation, 48000 lives were sacrificed. As this sword contains souls, it has it's own will and chooses his owner by itself.
The Blade of Tathagata deals an additional 1d6 + Wisdom or Intelligence modifier radiant damage.
If it's wielded by someone it didn't choose, the wielder takes 1d6 radiant damage every turn.

Divine Bond The blade can be summoned by his chosen one as an action. It must be on the same plane of existince to make use of this feature.

Divine Fire On a successful critical hit, this weapon deals an additional 1d6 fire damage.

Divine Strike As an action, when focusing on releasing the divine energy this sword contains, you can do a divine strike shooting a beam in a straight line. Taking a -5 to hit, you deal an additional 1d6 radiant damage and you shoot a beam in a 30ft. line doing the same damage your strike dealt. All enemys hit by the beam can make a dexterity saving throw against DC 10 or the damage dealt (whichever is higher). On a success they only take half the damage. You can use this feature once per turn.

Curse: Tathagatas Will As this blade has it's own will, it won't accept a chosen one to use other melee weapons. If the chosen one ignores the swords will and uses another meele weapon, it will try to absorb it's users soul.
Roll a d20. On a 18 or lower your soul is absorbed by the sword. On a 19 or 20, the sword accepts your decision but won't choose you again.
