Through storms and blistering heat, one type of person has persevered and did it with a smile, the mailman. You have traversed mountains, forest, cities and even caves just to deliver some mail. Your title holds the meaning of honor, pride and promise that you will do your duty with a smile, no matter the stakes.
===Feature: Everyone's friend===
After years of practice and work you have found that city layouts generally share similarities. You can easily find your way around most cities and you are capable of getting information and work from that city's post office, from locations of notable people, to places of intrigue and local happenings. Additionally, you are able to use your position to deliver different types of mail without suspicion.

===Suggested Characteristics===
Mailmen or post men are commonly known as heroes not in the traditional sense but they have many qualities from honour to pride and everything in between.
== Meta Gamer ==

The Meta Gamer has spent years of their lives tormented with the knowledge that their world is not what it seems, a voice telling them that it’s all a lie. They gain knowledge that the highest of sages could only dream of knowing, but in return lose their sanity, developing many mental problems that can both hinder and help them
==== Spellcasting ====

As you learn many things from your mind expanding with knowledge, you also gain access to magic that can only be accessed through years of practice or study.

;Cantrips
You know two cantrips of your choice from any spell list. You learn additional Cantrips of your choice at higher levels, as shown in the Cantrips Known column of the Meta Gamer table.

;Spell Slots
The Meta Gamer table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your spells of 1st level or higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expand a spell slot of the spells level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

;Spells Known of 1st Level and Higher
You know 4 1st level spells of your choice from any spell list.
The Spells Known column of the Meta Gamer table shows when you learn more spells of your choice. Each of these spells must be of a level for which you have spell slots, as shown in the table.

;Spellcasting Ability
At 1st level you choose from either Intelligence, Wisdom or Charisma to be your spellcasting focus for your Meta Gamer spells, this can not be changed at any point after Character Creation. Your magic comes from a strange understanding of the world around you, so your use of these Abilities refers to the part of the brain that is acquiring this knowledge. In addition, you use this Ability modifier when setting your saving throw DC for Meta Gamer Spells you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

'''Spell save DC''' = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting modifier

'''Spell attack modifier''' = your proficiency bonus + your spellcasting modifier

;Spellcasting Focus
Your spellcasting focus is a small trinket of your choice that the Meta Gamer treasures greatly.

==== Unearthly Knowledge ====

Something in your life has caused you to have a strange understanding of the world around you, things that to others are incomprehensible and crazy.
At 1st level, you understand things such as XP, Stats, Initiative, and other such game rules. You can spend one point during a long rest to change 2 spells known. In addition, as a bonus action, 1 point can be used to find out a stat or DC of anything. The amount of Unearthly Knowledge points per long rest can be found in the Meta Gamer Table.

==== All Or Nothing ====
You begin to see that all events can be manipulated, but to extreme consequence, you can control your own luck to some extent, but the cost may be great.
At 2nd level, you gain the ability to manipulate the world. Once you have attempted an ability check or attack roll, but before you know the result, you can attempt an all or nothing roll. Roll 3 more D20’s, if at least 1 die is a 20, you critically succeed, if none of them are 20, you fail, and if at least one die is a 1, you critically fail. A 20 and a 1 cancel each other out, and the other die is the used as the result.

==== Meta Voice Feature ====
At 3rd level, you choose a Meta Voice. Choose between Schizophrenia, Psychosis and Split Personality, All are detailed at the end of the class description. Your choice grants you features at 3rd level and again at 6th, 10th, 14th and 18th level.

==== Ability Score Increase ====

When you reach 4th level, and again at 8th, 12th, 16th and 19th level, you can increase one ability score of your choice by 2, or you can increase two ability scores of your choice by 1 (until stated otherwise at 8th level). As normal, you can't increase an ability score above 20 using this feature.

==== Elemental Weakness ====
You can now see creatures for what they really are, figments of a greater beings imagination, sent to create conflict in your world, and you now know how they work better.
At 5th level you gain the ability to know all vulnerabilities, and resistances of enemy creatures.

==== Kick the Die ====
You now see your plane of existence, some play thing of the gods, you see the tools that they use, which others do not possess the vision to see, and can now manipulate small areas of the game around you.
At 7th level, if the die rolled lands within 10ft in game of your character model, you can change the die to and adjacent number on the die, however, if you hit a friendly model, they take that die of damage.

==== Improved Character Sheet ====
If you are going to be a plaything, you are going to make sure you are going to survive the game, you gain the ability to mildly manipulate, physically and mentally how tough you are.
At 8th level, all Ability Score Improvements now have 3 points to use, and a feat costs 2 points.

==== See Through the Pain ====
The gods think that your life is just a number, and numbers are easy to change.
At 11th level, as an action, you can now use your hit dice to heal at any time.

==== Mixed Expertise ====
Skills are no longer things that need to be trained, just improved upon through manipulation of the world.
At 13th level, Choose 3 Skills or saves, double your current proficiency bonus for these skills or saves. Gain this again at 17th level.

==== Spell Manipulation ====
The spells you cast are no longer confined by the conventional rules of magic, you can manipulate them to be exactly what you want, and work however you want.
At 15th level, you can use 1 unearthly knowledge point to change a single spell feature as stated below;

• The casting time for that spell is halved

• The range for that spell is doubled

• The components are removed from that spells requirements

• The duration of that spell is doubled

• The concentration on a spell can be removed for 1 point per minute

• The targets affected are doubled

• The school of magic that the spell is in can be changed

• The damage type of that spell can be changed for 1 point per damage type

==== Infinite Knowledge ====
The world unfolds before you, you can see all aspects of the game, every dimension, every rule, yours to control.
At 20th level, you gain infinite uses of Unearthly Knowledge.

== Meta Voice ==

=== Schizophrenia ===

The Voice is afraid of the world the gods have created, it knows that things can occur out of nowhere and that the world is actively out to get you.

;{{#anc:Paranoia}}
You constantly feel like somebody is watching you…. Probably because they are.
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to sense your surroundings at all times, you have advantage on checks to spot hidden creatures.

;{{#anc:Insomnia}}
The voice won’t let you sleep, you must always be wary of your surroundings.
At 6th level, during long rests, you must still have 8 hours of inactivity, but you are still fully awake and aware of your surroundings.

;{{#anc:Distrusting}}
You know that people are trying to deceive you, trying to harm you in any way they can.
At 10th level, you have advantage on all insight checks.

;{{#anc:Vocal Focus}}
At 14th level, after years of blocking out the voice, you have developed a way to focus on what you want to hear. As long as you are within 50ft of your target, no matter how loud the surrounding area, you can perfectly understand what is being said no matter the language, however, this renders you deaf and blind to all other sources.

;{{#anc:Overpowering Voices}}
The voice has become powerful, it can weave its way through the planes and affect others.
At 18th level, your spell DC and spell attack bonus are increased by 2 for any spell with the vocal component.

=== Psychosis ===

Illusions and visions now appear in your mind, you don’t know if what you see is real anymore, the game and the real world are indistinguishable from each other in your mind.

;{{#anc:It's Not Real}}
Your voice knows that its only a game. At 3rd level, you automatically see secret switches and things cloaked by magic.

;{{#anc:Game Map Vision}}
The world around you warps into a map, with dimensions, a 2D plane in which walls and obstructions become ethereal.
At 6th level, you can spend 1 Unearthly Knowledge point per 5ft of solid material or difficult terrain to walk straight through it. This includes climbing and swimming etc.

;{{#anc:See Through The Facade}}
The world becomes a sort of code you see that everything trying to kill you is made up, placed there to end your life, but you know end them quicker.
At 10th level, once per week, you can reduce a single creature’s max HP. This is done by using the hit dice of the creature and treating dice as stated below + any normal bonus.

D4=1

D6=2

D8=3

D10=4

D12=5

D20=8

;{{#anc:It's What It Says In The Book}}
The rules become refined to you, you see that rolls are meaningless and that, if needs be, can be reduced, and you now know how to do it.
At 14th level, you can spend 2 unearthly knowledge points to reduce an attack within 30ft to minimum damage.

;{{#anc:I See What Game You Are Playing}}
You know that every person, every adventurer or monster, they all have their own abilities, and you think you would also find some of them useful.
At 18th level, you can take 3 class features from any class, in their most basic form, up to 10th level.

=== Split Personality ===

The voice begins to be equal with your mind the two are now fighting for control, but you think you might know exactly how it could become useful.

;{{#anc:Look Out For The Other One}}
You have figured out how to switch between your 2 minds using both to your advantage.
Twice per day you can let your other personality take over, your mental stats switch with your physical stats in these pairs; Strength and Intelligence, Dexterity and Wisdom, Constitution and Charisma. This takes 1 minute. You gain additional uses at 6th, 10th, 14th and 18th level.

;{{#anc:Bipolar}}
Switching has become second nature for you, and in fact, you can no longer remember which personality is the real one.
At 6th level, you gain the ability to switch personalities as a bonus action.

;{{#anc:Forced Stability}}
The two personalities seem to want to work together, but facilitating this can take its toll, a body shouldn’t have two minds at once.
At 10th level, you can choose to not switch some of your stat pairs, but for each stat pair you don’t change, you suffer 1 level of madness. (as seen in the table below)

;{{#anc:Truly Split}}
The voice has become so strong, that it can now gain physical form, splitting your mind in two to create a vessel for itself.
At 14th level, you gain the ability to fully split up your personalities. You can become 2 characters as an action, however, the model with the highest spellcasting mod can not attack using any weapons, and the model with the lowest spellcasting modifier can not cast spells. Splitting your personalities causes 2 levels of madness, and if the models do not return to each other’s body within 1 hour, you suffer 3 extra levels of madness.

;{{#anc:Good Cop, Bad Cop}}
Your personalities can now work in unison, but only when apart.
At 18th level, while split, and attempting the same task, you can choose to add both modifiers together in addition to a +2 bonus to the check.

=== Madness Table ===

'''Level Of Madness'''='''Effect'''

'''3'''= After a Long Rest, your HP is your maximum hit points minus your level

'''4'''= Disadvantage on Intellignce Checks

'''6'''= Disadvantage on Wisdom Checks

All effects are cumulative. After a long rest, 2 levels of madness are removed.

===Physical Description===
Kneeforged are smililar to warforged, but where a warforged is usually forged from non-living material, a Kneeforged comprised entirely of humanoid being's knees.

===History===
One day, a man in Eberron broke his knee. It was not a fun time. He was a smart man, though. He created a knee for himself! But now he had an extra human knee taking up so much space. He needed to do something with it. So he decided to go around his village chopping off people's knees and created a new type of Warforged: The Kneeforged (Patent pending).

===Society===
Most Kneeforged are welcomed as much as warforged, although some people tend to stay away from them, for obvious reasons.
===Kneeforged names===
They tend to take a name from the race the knees that comprise their body came from (like Phillip, the first Kneeforged), or a nickkneem from their friends.
== Adventure Background ==

After defeating (insert monster/villain here) you find a Cubic Gate, on one side is a plane that you are not familiar with. Curiosity gets the best of you and you press it. You appear in a busy street surrounded by beholder kind.

== Overview ==

At this point it should be made obvious that no party could win if they attempted an attack since the ENTIRE population is beholders and beholder kin. Try to get the party before the town master by whatever means possible. Once they arrive they find the wise LG beholder town master by the name of Auge. He does not know what the humanoid party is and asks them if he can probe their minds, if they submit he basically copy and pastes all of the knowledge they have into himself. Seeing that they are a freedom loving people he tries to recruit them as a task force to assassinate “The Matriarch” which is the queen of the evil Thri-Keen hive several miles away. The Hive is a capital of slave trade in the region trading with unknown evils.

=== Hook ===

If the party cannot be easily drawn into the story get them attached to an npc and have that npc captured and put them in danger of being sold to whatever dark empire the Hive is trading with.

== Stage ==

Beholder city is a beautifully crafted bright crystal filled settlement carved in stone. Streams of green fluid similar to water but richer in flavor flow in the streets. The beholders here are all of good alignments, are not paranoid, arrogant or xenophobic at all and are dedicated to peace and freedom.

The Hive is a dark bleak flavorless abyss of winding passages, slave pins and work stations. Its population is mostly Thri-Keen, Umber Hulks and Ettercaps but has other insectile inhabitants.

=== Step or Location ===

The Matriarchs stronghold, this tall black stone structure is carved with images of despair and waste. Its halls are guarded by Thri-Keen, Umber Hulks, Phase Spiders and the queen's twisted pet.

==== Features ====

The queen's pet is a spider the size of a truck. For stats, use giant spider stats with every number tripled. Use any primitive traps in the outer layers of the queen's lair, but make them more deadly and intricate as the party progresses towards her. For the matriarch herself, modify the Thri-Keen stats by adding a flying speed, increases in hp and charisma, and more damage on attacks.

==== Inhabitants ====

Beholder City: Beholders, Gazers, Death Kiss, Gauth, Spectators and Mindwitness
The Hive: Thri-Keen, Umber Hulk, Spiders, Ettercaps, any slave race and any slave buyer race.
===== Inhabitant =====

See listed creatures stat blocks in The Monster Manual 5e and Volos Guide to Monsters 5e.

==== Developments ====

If the party is good or neutral, and help the beholders, they will infiltrate and overthrow the Hive. If the party is evil, it might join the Hive and have an epic battle with beholder city (probably a partial or total party kill)

==== Treasure ====

Treasure in beholder city is mostly art, see DMG 5e for tables to roll for treasure. The Hive will have treasure stolen from slaves, the DM can pick these however (s)he pleases.

== Conclusion ==

If the party kills the Matriarch, they will be given epic boons by the beholder mages. If they fight for the Hive, they will be given titles and a military commission.

== Rewards ==

Listed above.

=== Experience ===

Give players XP as it seems fit to, mainly good role play and combat.

The '''minimum''' total award for each character participating in this adventure is '''1000 experience points'''.

The '''maximum''' total award for each character participating in this adventure is '''No maximum amount of experience points'''.

=== Treasure ===

If the party overthrows the Hive, they would find a vault with 15d12PP

=== Enmity ===

If you kill the Hive and free it’s slaves, the slave keeping factions will hunt you.

=== Renown ===

DM call based on parties loyalty to a certain faction.

=== Downtime ===

PCs would be given time for rest, training, or other downtime activities.

Lunarite is a mystical metal that is liquid during the day, and solid during the night. While in liquid form, it has the look and consistency of mercury, and depending on how much there is, it will either crystallize, or just solidify at night. If you just leave it out in a puddle, it will crystallize, but if you put it in a mold, it will solidify, Oddly, it's not based on time of day, and it's not based on sunlight hitting it, it seems to know exactly when the sun has set, and, no matter where it is, it will turn solid when the sun is gone. It can be used as a poison, if you tip an arrow with it, or put it in someone's drink, then it will enter their blood, or their stomach. When the sun sets, it will crystallize inside them, puncturing their insides, and killing them. You can use it as an alloy for a weapon or shield, making it weak during the day, but powerful during the night. If anyone has more uses for it, feel free to edit this page!
ok get the creative juices flowing. you won't find most of this stuff in books so don't bother with them. I have the properties for mithral, cold iron, and adamantine. can anyone think up some other metals that would be useful in item creation? what would they do? how much would they cost? Weight? and what would you make out them?

Star metal is in complete Arcane. its like adamantine with outsiderbane.
there are a few more in planar handbook, like blood iron and astral drift metal.
there are a few more in the eberron setting.
tryin to help, but failing...

Materia Type. Can store spells within. Every enchantment placed on the metal equals one spell that can be stored and casted spontaneously. The material itself costs the same as mythril. But prices can vary. Appearance is similar to tinted glass.

Iridium is a rare earth element member of the platnum fabmily, it has a silvery sheen. It is exceptional in that it is a very hard, britle metal, and that it is the second most dense metal weighing in at 22.56 g/cm3. For game rules, i would give it a hardness approaching(but not equaling) adamantine, and since it is so heavy, perhaps a +2 to damage, and a -2 to hit(net -1 with masterwork). If someone starts "improvising" weapons out of this, things can get out of hand very quickly though. a 6ft sphere of iridium does over 100d6 of damage, by the improvised damage rules in CW.

== metals ==

I had a dm that used a metal he called urzium. only a handfull of ppl in the cosmos knew how to craft it. I'm not sure what it was made of. it could be crafted into anything, swords, armor, etc. was lighter than mithril and indestructible in such a way that made adamantiaum seem like gold in comparison. his uber-god couldn't sunder such a weapon. this metal could hold unlimited amounts of magic if crafted properly, if crafted improperly it would hold a set amount then explode. this stuff was awesome but has the capabilities of overbalancing a game in a hurry.
Hi! I once came up with a cool idea for a type of metal, but I don't know where I would put it. Maybe other? I made it for 5e, but since it doesn't have any edition-centric mechanics, I guess it could be used for any version. Thanks!
Imagine you kick down a door, and get a small splinter. No big deal, right? Wrong, because you might have been infected with Creeping Oak, a disease that, if you don't succeed a DC 15 Constitution Saving Throw, and if not cured within a week, will turn you into a tree. These trees look like any normal tree, except their sap is red, and they smell of meat when burned. Infection spreads from splinters that come from people already transformed. The origin of the illness is a druid who cursed his enemy, not knowing that curse would spread.
Imagine you kick down a door, and get a small splinter. No big deal, right? Wrong, because you might have been infected with Creeping Oak, a disease that, if not cured within a week, will turn you into a tree. These trees look like any normal tree, except their sap is red, and they smell of meat when burned. Infection spreads from splinters that come from people already transformed. The origin of the illness is a druid who cursed his enemy, not knowing that curse would spread.
