Xanaku[edit]

A race of fallen angels that were cast out of the Astral Sea for plotting to dethrone the gods. Banned from entering the Nine Hells, the Feywild, the Shadowfell or the elemental planes for fear of usurping power there as well, the Xanaku are doomed to wander the world for their eternal lives.

The Xanaku are proud, scornful of those they do not see worthy of their respect and filled with intense hate for all other immortals. Xanaku desire power over anything else and so often use their skills to steal and rob power from others - to them, the ends justify the means, the ends being their conquering of all realms and all planes.

Play a Xanaku if you want...

  • To be a power-hungry, remorseless tyrant.
  • If you want to have grudges against most creatures of your type.
  • To be a member of a race that favors the fighter, warlock, assassin, psion and sorcerer classes.

Physical Qualities[edit]

The Xanaku appear as humans, albeit odd-looking ones. Their skin is pure white, their eyes red as blood, with black feathered wings sprouting from their backs and black hair often worn long. They are slim of build, but have strength that would rival an orc or giant.

Playing a Xanaku[edit]

The Xanaku have a hard time getting along with any race, even their own. To Xanaku, everything and everyone is a potential threat to one's rise to glory, and all who become active threats must be eliminated as such. The Xanaku have no civilization of their own, instead opting to live among what they deem as the "lesser races" and plot their rises to power.

Xanaku Adventurers[edit]

Three sample Xanaku adventurers are described below.

Daiko is a Xanaku psion with a bloodthirsty drive for power. He has killed everyone who crossed him for no purpose other than to refine his psionic powers, and dreams of overthrowing the gods. His ambition has led him into conflicts with angels and exarchs who sought to stop him, but none of them were able to best him.

Nowina is a Xanaku sorcerer who harbors no dreams of godhood, instead focusing on accumulating wealth. She makes money as a seer in the public eye, but takes assassination contracts on the side to supplement her income. Far and wide she is known as the "Angel of Death" for her ruthless killing methods and the fact that none have ever escaped her.

Shikaku is a Xanaku fighter who seeks nothing but blood. To this end he fights in the pits as a gladiator, slaughtering his foes left and right in order to hear the cheers of the crowd and smell fresh blood. Called the "Black Blade" for the color of his wings and sword, he shows no mercy to any who stand between him and victory.
