Lycanthropes are those afflicted or naturally able to turn into half man, half animal creatures. The normal Lycanthrope template gives everything a Lycanthrope should be, animal form, DR, massive boosts, the whole thing. But just in case you wanted a much lower power form stripped right to the bone, here it is.
Creating a Low-Power Lycanthrope[edit]
This template can be acquired template or inherited template that can be applied to any humanoid or giant.
Size and Type[edit]
The base creature’s type does not change, but the creature gains the shapechanger subtype. The lycanthrope takes on the characteristics of some type of carnivorous or omnivorous creature of the animal type (referred to hereafter as the base animal).
Hit Dice[edit]
Same as the base creature.
Speed[edit]
There is no change in speed. However, in hybrid-form they gain a +10 bonus to speed.
Armor Class[edit]
Due to general toughness, the base creature gains +1 natural armor.
Attack[edit]
There is no change from the base creature in normal form, but in hybrid-form they gain a bite attack which deals 1d6 plus Strength modifier, and two claw attacks dealing 1d4 plus Strength for medium creatures, or 1d4 and 1d3 for small sized creatures. Alternatively if the base creature already has a claw attack instead increase the base damage as if they were one size category larger.
Special Attacks[edit]
Curse of Lycanthropy (Su) Any humanoid or giant hit by a low-powered lycanthrope’s bite attack in were form must succeed on a DC 11 Fortitude save or contract lycanthropy.
Special Qualities[edit]
Scent (Ex)
A lycanthrope has the scent ability in any form.
Alternate Form (Su)
A low-power lycanthrope can assume the hybrid form of a specific animal. Changing to or from hybrid form is a standard action.
A slain lycanthrope reverts to its humanoid form, although it remains dead. Separated body parts retain their animal form, however.
Damage Reduction (Ex)
A low-power lycanthrope has DR 5/Silver in hybrid form.
Abilities[edit]
The low-power lycanthrope gains +2 Wis and -2 Cha, gaining animal senses, but becoming of a strange, animal mindset as well.
In addition, when in hybrid form they gain +2 to two pre-selected ability scores suitable for the animal they are crossed with. For example a werewolf may gain +2 Str and Dex.
Lycanthropes receive a +4 racial bonus to Survival. They also receive a +2 bonus to Intimidate, Listen, & Spot.
These bonuses apply in any form and these skills are always considered class skills.
Challenge Rating[edit]
CR +1.
Level Adjustment[edit]
LA +1.
