Beastial Samurai[edit]

Choose only one master - Nature.

Beastial Samurai are the defenders of Nature. Harnessing the powers of the wilderness in their attacks, these Shogunless samurai can deal incredible amounts of damage to those who threaten Nature.

Making a Beastial Samurai[edit]

Beastial Samurai have great skills with the sword, but they may never use shields. They may choose one beast from Nature to represent. They have low hit-points, but a great AC.

Abilities: The ability to summon a spirit weapon, and can take on traits of their represented beast.

Races: Mainly humans or elves, but any humanoid race may take this class.

Alignment: True Neutral ONLY.

Starting Gold: determined by DM.

Class Features[edit]

All of the following are class features of the Beastial Samurai

Weapon and Armor Proficiency: Proficient with all martial weapons (and one of their choice, See Weapon Proficiency Class Skill) and all light and medium armors. A Beastial Samurai may also become proficient in one weapon of his choice.

Shieldless - A Beastial Samurai may never wear a shield. Period. Attempting to removes all bonus stats and skills until the shield is unequipped.

Nature's Embrace - Now that a Beastial Samurai has become one with nature, he may heal himself three times per day for 1d10 hit points.

Wild Slashes - A Beastial Samurai may give his attacks the power of the wild. At second level add 1d6 to attack AND damage rolls, at fourth level, add 1d6 to attack rolls and 2d6 to damage rolls, at thirteenth level add 2d6 to attack rolls and 5d6 to damage rolls. Usable 3 per day for (Dex mod+ Str mod) rounds.

Untouchable Warrior - Study of battle allows the Beastial Samurai the ability to use his Wisdom to determine how the enemy is most likely to attack, and use his Intelligence to narrow that down to a pattern for each specific enemy Adds Wis mod + Int mod to Deflection AC.

Spirit Trio - Once per day, a Beastial Samurai may split his spirit in two and release them from his body, all three "bodies" then attack all at the same time as one attack. Add +10 to attack roll and (Dex mod+ Str mod +Wis mod) to damage roll. Improved adds +15 to attack roll and (Dex mod+ Str mod +Wis mod) to damage roll. Greater adds +20 to attack roll and (Dex mod+ Str mod +Wis mod) to damage roll, Greater also grants an additional use, making it 2 per day

Beastial Traits - A Beastial Samurai takes on the traits of his chosen beast. (First set is normal, second is improved, and third is greater)

Summon Spiritual Weapon - Once per day a Beastial Samurai may summon a weightless spirit weapon of their choice for 24 hours. Lesser acts a +1 weapon, Greater is a +3 (same as +1, but may choose two +1 Enhancements, or one +2 Enhancements for it, since it is summoned you may choose these upon summoning it.) May be dispelled by an Improved Dispel Magic, Superb Dispel Magic versus a Greater Spiritual Weapon.

Dashing Slash - A Beastial Samurai may do a full sprint, or any slower movement if preferred, to deal normal damage to all enemies he runs through, or within 5 feet of. One attack roll is done at the start to determine ALL hits. Improved adds +1d6 to attack roll. Greater adds +2d6 to attack roll and +2d6 to damage rolls.

Improved Defenses - Gives +6 to to natural armor, and +4 to shield (No they cannot use shields but their great combat prowess allows them to effectively block with their weapon of choice).

Transform: Beast Form - Allows the Beastial Samurai to transform into his chosen beast. May choose a beast seperate from his His beastial traits feat if desired. His Beastial Traits are doubled, and adds +3d6 to all damage rolls. at twentieth level his traits are doubled (from original NOT Beastial forms) and adds +6d8 to all damage rolls, He also has the ability to use his Beastial Finish. He may maintain this form for double his level (total, not class) or until he uses his Beastial Finish. Usable once per day.
Wolf: Savage Spirit Bite: Targeted enemy must roll a reflex save of a DC of 10+ Beastial Samurai class level to avoid. If failed the Beastial Samurai rolls a damage roll of 10d6+Dex mod, the enemy takes the damage then must make a Will Save of the damage or be rendered unconscious for 1d4 turns.
Eagle: Wings of Vengeance: Targeted enemy must roll a Will save of DC 5+ Beastial Samurai class level or take 10d6+Wis mod damage, Enemy must then make a fortitude save of half the damage dealt or else take 5 feet of falling damage each turn for 1d4 rounds (+5 each turn, with a max of +20)
Snake: Spiritual Poison: Enemy must roll a Fortitude save of a DC of 2d20s. If failed is afflicted with Spiritual Poison for 1d12 rounds, does 1d6 damage + Beastial Samurai Dex mod each turn.
Rhino: Gore: Enemy must roll a Reflex save of a DC of one half a Beastial Samurai normal damage roll + Con mod + Str mod +5.If failed takes the damage from the damage roll + 5d20.
Turtle: Shell Shock: Enemy must roll a Will Save of a DC of 15+ Beastial Samurai Wis mod+ Con mod, or be paralysed for 1d20 rounds, each round paralysed, the enemy must take 1d10 damage

Final Blow - Once per day a Beastial Samurai may roll 5 damage rolls on a single attack. Must be decided BEFORE attack roll is made.

Flurry - Twice per day a Beastial Samurai may roll double his attacks per turn at the same bonuses. (first attack +17, second attack also +17 third at +12 fourth at +12, etc.)

2 + Int modifier skill points per level.

Untouchable Warrior Now the Beastial Samurai combat prowess is so great he not only adds his Wis mod + Int mod to his deflection AC, but also grants their Dex mod to it.

One With Nature The Beastial Samurai Nature's Embrace skill now heals 3d6.

Greater Defences The Beastial Samurai Improved Defenses skill becomes Greater, adding +20 to natural armor, and +18 to shield.

Nature's Wrath Strike The Beastial Samurai can now use both his Spirit Trio and Final Blow attacks as one massive finishing move, The damage roll is also doubled, and all enemies within 5 feet of the target take 1/4 the damage the NWS deals.

Campaign Information[edit]

Playing a Beastial Samurai[edit]

Religion: Do not usually worship any gods due to their devotion to Nature. If one chooses to follow a God, it must be one deeply tied to Nature.

Other Classes: Gets along with every class that fights honorably, and doesn't have destructive magics.

Combat: Glass-Cannon. Low HP is the downfall of the Beastial Samurai, but they have some of the strongest attacks at their disposal.

Advancement: One might want to further devote themselves to nature by multiclassing as a Druid. Fighters are also a good multiclass.

Beastial Samurai in the World[edit]

Daily Life: Upholding the laws of Nature, and protecting areas like forests and jungles.

Organizations: Order of Nature's Embrace: The order a Beastial Samurai MUST belong to. Is devoted to upholding the laws of Nature, and protecting areas like forests and jungles.

Beastial Samurai Lore[edit]

Characters with ranks in Knowledge( History or Local) can research Beastial Samurai to learn more about them. When a character makes a skill check, read or paraphrase the following, including information from lower DCs.

Adaptation: Possibly a Samurai who uses a Spirit Beast not listed (Jungle cats, etc.)

Sample Encounter: Chaotic group cutting it's way through a forest may run into some very angry Beastial Samurai
