Murder is a tool not unknown to devils and their tactics. But for some, it is not a means to an end, but an act which is an ends onto itself as a way of life. For these devils, there is nothing but the kill which matters. Born for the kill, these are the assassin devils.

Play an Assassin Devil if you want...

  • To be fast
  • To be able to disappear.
  • To be a member of a race that favors the Monk, Rogue, Fighter, Battlemind, and Warden classes.

Physical Qualities[edit]

Assassin devils are human-like with skin color ranging from solid grey to purple. They have almost blank faces, with the suggestion of a nose, two burning red eyes. While not consumed by emotion like bloodlust, these eyes are blank, sometimes sunken into darkness. Their mouths are a disturbing, fixed curve with bone-white teeth, though this can vary. They are bow-legged and fast runners on their clawed feet. They naturally have purple and black hair, although those amongst the devil's ranks sometimes keep this shaved for efficiency. They tend to wear black clothing.

Playing an Assassin Devil[edit]

Assassin Devils are shunned from society because of their infernal nature. They are very aggressive and prefer to use dark powers. They have difficulty controlling their devilish nature, for it speaks very loud in their minds. They're not afraid to fight outright, however, but prefer surprise tactics. They are very devoted to tasks that require stealth, and prefer espionage over diplomacy. They're also devoted to close friends, though it is very rare that they even have friends. They prefer to worship gods of death, stealth, and strength.

Assassin Devil Characteristics: Aggressive, dark, courageous, devoted, morbid, cynical.

Male Names: Grawn, Arganath, Polumtus, Baquen

Female Names: Vauc, Quarni, Parckay, Cluy

Assassin Devil Adventurers[edit]

Three sample Assassin Devil adventurers are described below.

Vauc is a monk, trained in vile arts of the infernal world. She got lost on a mission in the natural world, unfamiliar with its mountains. Being desperate, she attacked a group of adventurers so that she might interrogate one of them. But they were more powerful than she was. Just as their rogue was about the kill her, she pleaded for her life. She ended up as a prisoner, but she had managed to escape, though, she never returned to the devil's side. She wandered as a rogue devil, trying to find her purpose in life.

Arganath is a assassin devil rogue, enjoying freedom in sigil. She was repeatedly denied promotion for her talents and work for a war devil and ended up killing him in jealousy. She saw the signs of being shunned by devil kind for killing a superior officer and fled to sigil, losing her pursuers in the great planar metropolis.

Baquen is a wild sorcerer, exploring his new powers. During a mission to the elemental chaos, he found a strange shard of elemental energy that warped him away from his squad and into the material plane along with granting him potent but random elemental magic. He's wandered the strange rocky desert he's found himself in, exploring his freedom and his new powers
